I agree with your views regarding the first Pastor, but the second?

According to what you wrote, cause I didn't see the actual quote, just your version. He didn't say anything about God. Just said that someone who passed a law allowing tons of murders of innocent lives is mourning? Hypocrite, that's not religion. That's common sense.

Nuh the second one was as you said.. Nothing about god.. Just his views on the situation which I see that you share..

Andre i'm not sure what that Pastors name was.. I heard it on 3aw I think on Monday, Derryn Hinch read it out.. It was an official press release so i'll have a look as i'm sure it'll be published somewhere..

I'd hesitate to write to them because if he's gotten to the point of being that twisted in the head it may be like trying to penetrate a bank vault with a carrot.. But any people who can tell these guys what reality is like has got to be a good thing, so i'm going to have a look for who it was..

Found 5 links relating to the situation.. I just typed in google "bushfires abortion" and it was filled with it.. The ridiculousness that those 2 words have even been put together is beyond me..

Pastor's abortion dream inflames bushfire tragedy | smh.com.au

Abortion to blame for fires: Pastor - National - BrisbaneTimes

(I think this one has the exact press release re-published.)
Queensland: Abortion laws to blame for bush fires?

Media Release - Abortion Laws To Blame For Bush Fires? at Catch The Fire Ministries

Bad Taste Pastor: Bushfires Punish Abortion State

I haven't read any yet and not sure I want to.. I'll get angry.. But i'm going to read anyway to see what sense there is in it, if there is any..

This is what the former treasurer said about the above claims... He's exactly right.

"To link the death and suffering of bushfire victims to other political events is appalling, heartless and wrong,'' said Mr Costello, who has lost a Christian friend in the fires.

"Those who have suffered deserve ever support and sympathy. It is beyond the bounds of decency to try to make moral or politcal points out of such a tragedy.''

The sickest part is that they can take a line from the bible, interprit it the way the want, then use it to defend INSANE statements and actions..

    read this :

Asked if he believed in a God who would take vengeance by killing so many people indiscriminately - even those who opposed abortion, Mr Nalliah referred to 2 Chronicles 7:14 to vouch for his assertion that God could withdraw his protection from a nation.
"The Bible is very clear," he said. "If you walk out of God's protection and turn your back on Him, you are an open target for the devil to destroy."

Now Andre you're a guy that understands enlightenment, and that statement can be taken to many different ways.. God's protection could just mean turning your back on peace, and turning your back on peace can lead to you "open target for devil to destroy"... The devil destroying could be boredom or depression or anger....

The bible can be both the most healing book in the world, or the most dangerous, especially as it's open to interpretation, then people justify their actions on how the interpret it.. And their intepretation is the exact definition of true right and wrong..

He says "The bible is very clear".... NOOOOOOOOOOOO, IF THE BIBLE WAS VERY CLEAR, it would state
"Any Nation or specific State of a Nation that passes a law supporting abortion will have bushfires unleashed on it by arsonists on the hottest day in their States recordered history as punishment..

It's just simply fucking delusional how they see the world.... The more delusional they are, the higher they go in the church hierarchy

Really frustrating. I don't think that the more people are delusional the higher they go, I think it's the higher they get the more delusional and they somehow think they are qualified to speak for God.

I also don't agree that the Pastor should have used this time for making the statement about being hypocrites, just that guy happens to be a Pastor, but he didn't try to speak for God in this situation.

Nuh that's true, the second guy was just giving his opinion and everyone is entitled to that... If someone wants to think that I think it's silly, but if they feel that strongly about abortion etc then they could make that statement... But the timing of it and to cut down a premier when he's outpouring sympathy to victims is a little wrong..
Sometimes regardless of how right you are or think you are with your opinion, there are times when you should just keep it to yourself... so I don't daigree with you on that point..

Agreed, classless statement given the timing.
