What can we say about Margarito? He is another Luis Resto. Luis did not confess until about 20 years after the fact, so I guess we might not ever know with Tony as he has shown the same nonchalant attitude Luis Resto did when he was caught, no remorse, no guilt, no shame. Luis was not a pound for pound fighter either who had already lost 8 fights coming into his bout with Collins Jr. You know in your own little heart that Margarito cheated. I don't care what you type, every boxing critic with any credibility will tell you that Margarito most likely cheated. But if you are stupid enough to believe that Tony tried to cheat against an old Mosley whom Cotto just beat and that Tony did not cheat against a young buck like Miguel Cotto then you are either delusional or you are just trying to get my attention but you are making yourself look pretty foolish regarding the matter now in light of the new findings in the wrapsLike I said before, not even Chino is coming at me with that madness that you are coming at me with because now he understands how and why Miguel lost. Ain't that right Chino? It's called YESO, that is Plaster in Spanish, que no carnalito? Chinito? Donde andas? Chino! Where you at homer? lol

No one is denying the possibility that he cheated in the cotto fight but are you saying that if Tony weren't wearing hand wraps, cotto would of won? I think thats a pretty bold statement if you do mean it like that, we could all see Cotto's punches werent having any effect, and I think Tony would of wore him down eventually as we all know he hits hard, hand wraps or not.. but I guess with the hand wraps he was able to wear him down a little faster.
Still.. I wouldn't mind seeing a Cotto-Marg rematch, and check Tony's hands this time![]()
Don't you find it odd that against Mosley, Margarito's punches had no pop? I don't know if Tony hits hard with out the PLASTER or not but against Mosley, it sure looked as though those punches were not only soft but Tony was reduced to throwing pitter pat punches going into the 5th round and this is when and where the plaster begins to harden in the gloves but since there was no plaster this time, there was never the pop. I guess we shall just have to wait until next year for the rematch which is ok with me. I will settle for Mosley/Cotto 2. Berto/Cotto 1. Clottey/Cotto 1. Quintana/Cotto 2. Williams/Cotto 1. Cintron/Cotto 1 what ever. There are plenty of fights for Miguel if he can get past that deadly fighter known as Michael Jennings![]()

OK boyz and girlz, I (or we) enjoyed your Margarito vs. Cotto "worst beating with or without the loaded gloves" discussion... but remember this is the "Pacquiao vs. Hatton worst beating" discussion thread...
Do you want me to start a thread titled "Do you think Margarito can inflict the same worst beating on Cotto without wearing loaded gloves?" ...
![]()
I agree, it was a personal attack against me because I am picking PAC over Hatton. I don't understand why people have to stray from the topic. I guess those who bring up Margarito in a Pac/Hatton thread really have nothing more to debate about when it comes to Pac vs Hatton, right? I guess so. They know in their little hearts that Pac is going to own Hatton so they try to attack me and hope the subject some how changes.![]()
It's hard to debate when your debating with biased pac fans lol A debate is a two-way thing but all SaddoBoxer has done in this thread is present his incredibly biased opinion and bigged pac man up a thousand times over, and disregarded any post someone made about Hatton.. how can you debate in this situation?
For the record I think Pac Man is a little overrated (at higher weights, anyway) and will slowly but surely crumble under Ricky's pressure, but I find myself thinking 'why bother' in this thread... as a pac fan, most likely filipino (did I spell it right this time?), will come along and worship Manny some more, totally disregarding my opinion.
Congrats Bro Joey, you got the spelling right this time...
BTW, here's another "bias" evidence. A picture of Hatton's assistant trainer Lee Beard (giving PAC some tips on how to inflict...?? )...Hatton's assistant trainer is a huge PAC fan... a PAC nuthugger...

Pac is being completely overrated on the back of the Oscar win. He has fought only 1 time above 135 pounds, and lets face it DLH was as much awful as Pac was good. Hatton is going to be the bigger man in this fight, and he is going to land on Pac harder than anybody has ever done so before. If Hatton can show the resolve of the Kostya fight, he might well break Manny up. Pac is far from unbeatable as Marquez has shown as recently as a year ago.
The Pac nuthuggery is overboard, and though partly driven by his undoubted talent, is also driven by fervent nationalism and a disregard for anything non-Pac. I choose to ignore the arguments that I think are worthless because its just a waste of time. You cannot have a meaningful debate with a someone who dangles off a fighters balls. And you shouldnt, its just not becoming.
But I am not a pac fan per say but I respect him as a person and a fighter. So why do the Hatton NUTHUGGERS have to try and change the subject and bring up Cotto? I don't get it.
Furthermore, PBF hit Hatton ONCE and he knocked him out straight up pink face first against the ring pole, what is Hatton going to do when Pacman hits him more than once? Maybe Hatton will bounce off all four poles before he gives another one of those British Queer dances he gave us against PBF![]()

1. The cotto-margarito fight was brought up by Leftylee to illustrate the last time you said someone was gunna destroy someone it didn't exactly pan out the way you said it would, or I guess that's what he was getting at.. which is a honest point really, it's pretty stupid to declare so and so is going to get destroyed in the ring come fight night, there are so many variables.. boxing is too unpredictable.
2. It wasn't just ONE punch.. PBF hit him with a shit load of solid punches. On top of that, Hatton was caught off-balance as he was lunging towards Floyd like he had been doing all night, which probably was why he fell face first into the ring post.
I can't believe so many brit posters are posting this time of night! It's 4:29 lads, what's going on. I'm going to sleep..
The Cotto thing is something I dont know about TBH and it isnt related to Hatton: Pac. Maybe Ive missed something earlier in this thread, I havent read all of it. But I dont get the comparison.
Yes, PBF knoced Hatton spark out. But its a different fight and lots of different variables. Hatton isnt stepping up to face a guy settled into the higher weight like PBF was. And lets not forget that Hatton was still in that fight until Cortez docked the point for Floyds theatrics. Hatton is competitive with the very best, no doubts about it. Everything that could go wrong went wrong against Floyd. And the good thing to come from it is that Hatton has decided to not just come back and do it all again, but to adapt.
Hatton dominated Malignaggi in a way that Cotto (now I will bring him in) himself couldnt do. Hatton showed patience and outboxed the boxer with a smart gameplan. I predict that we will see a further evolution of Hatton against Manny. He wont be as reckless and will take care to ensure that he wont be a sitting duck for Pacs ambushes. Of course Manny is going to hit Ricky, but Hatton can take a shot and has been hit by bigger punchers than Manny. Hatton will be working on his head movement and using his guard to deflect blows. Hatton is going to be much harder to hit than Diaz and DLH, and one reason is Hattons footwork. Malignaggi was surprised at how quickly Ricky got in close and Pac will be the same. Hatton will be in there closing the gap with lightning speed. Hatton doesnt have as quick hands, but they are heavier than Manny's too. If he can land enough early on, and cause some damage to the body, I can see Manny getting seriously discouraged.
Manny is the one stepping up in weight here, against a very live fighter. Can you envisage Hatton just standing there like Oscar or posing as limited a threat as Diaz? Come on now, be realistic. Manny could well be doing the "queer dance" himself.
Ive always said this is a pick 'em. And its such an exciting fight because of all the variables at play and I maintain that the betting odds are too far in Pac's favour and do not reflect the realities of the situation.
