They had a verbal agreement in place at the start of the summer. And even if they didn't, Hoya offered the fight when ? July ? That's 6 weeks notice. No way he would be ready for a September bout.

September?? I thought Hoya wanted to fight in December... Hoya fought PAC in December...

Hoya wanted to fight Hatton in September...by that time Hatton had signed to fight Paulie. Hoya has never offered Hatton the December date.
