I have been watching his show recently on Setanta in Australia, and I kinda like it. He does favour British fighters a lot but i guess if i was doing a show id probably favour Aussies too.
IF u take out a lot of the crap he goes on with he actually comes up with some good info on fights a times.

I do hate how he never mentions Saddos tho, and acts as tho Eastside and Doghouse are good sites.

Everybody involved in boxing broadcasting is doing it... HBO etc are a bit moer subtle about it but come on... if he says Jennings is going to get his head kicked in with in 2 rounds what do you think the veiwing figures would be like

Building Jennings up is perfectly understandable of course, but making Cotto out to be a lesser entity than he is was entirely unnecessary any way you slice it imo. He would have been much better served to just make it out to be the huge ask it was, obviously telling Jennings he wasn't going in against godzilla wasn't going to boost his confidence or make anyone more inclined to tune in, Jennings seemed sensible enough to realize that he was in deep, no reason Bunce had to imply otherwise.

He's said repeatedly over the last couple of months that Cotto lacks heart and apparantly Hatton agrees with him, I really, really want to see that fight.

His Column in boxing monthly is sometimes amusing (sometimes not for the right reasons!) I don't think he's all that bad a guy... he just seems to get lost/confused in his pre-fight ramblings which I'd put done at least a little to having to hype and generate interest etc.

Text book example... he used to hype the shit out of Fraudley when they were both with the BBC... as soon as Fraudley wasn't exclusive with the BBC he suddenly started tearing into him and making spot on comments about his career

I think our monthly "How big of a douche is Steve Bunce?" threads probably don't help sway his vote for Saddo's as a great boxing forum.. And of course those other forums will love him because to their knowledge, his talk on boxing is as true as the word of god..

We can find fault because we are knowledgeable here and can call it when he's talking rubbish.. There are a lot out there though that know no better than what these shows tell them...

Although that's not to say we have some rubbish posted here sometimes.. But it gets called on quick smart..

defo bunceys biggest prob is favoring the brits but i think its cos he spends loadsa time with them & generally wants to get us brits behind our fighters, there is generally a view that the americans are better than us brits, but we gotta realise not all the time.
