what did he do to earn another titleshot?

You should ask Vitali the same question. I agree a Maskaev fight wouldn't be the best but didnt Vitali benefit from this when he fought Sam Peter? And people were actually behind it, so Vitali says it isnt right this time, and people agree?

No offense but Vitali should be asking himself how he got that title shot in the first place.

Maskaev pointed this out in a recent press release, that when he was champion he had two back to back mandatories: Peter and Klitschko, however, he never made it to the Klitschko fight as he was knocked out by Peter.


I wish fighters were more active these days. Back in the day when fighters fought ever 2 or 3 months, two mandatories would be no sweat.

Personally, I think Vitali should throw his little green paper title in the garbage.
