what it does is it snips up the movie circuit that plays in your mind when you think of something. You think of what it is until you feel uncomfortable about it at a high level say 9 out of 10.Then you tap out while holding the thought.you find its down a few levels then you do it again if required until you can either touch the spider or board the jet,step into the ring,speak in public etc.
What it does is it removes the emotion from the thought pattern.
Out of just under 200 people I have seen it not work on only 3 cases.
