Just like they have to get a federal license to run a casino, they'll have to establish a commission and agree to abide by the law if they want hold championship boxing within those casinos. I don't see a damn thing wrong with this - this environment surrounding this sport needs some accountability, and the current sanctioning bodies have failed miserably in that sense. Hell, if it had been solely up to the current commission, Shane Mosley would have been pummeled with plaster-capped fists rather than beating down Margarito for the title a few weeks ago.

If McCain can get rid of the dumb-ass open-scoring (I know that's not in there, but I know he doesn't like it himself so maybe he'll slip an 'earmark' in ), make professional boxing licenses bondable across all 50 states (so if you're banned in NY you can't skip over to Vegas to fight), and have a body outside the sport itself monitoring the promotors/casino owners/commissioners and the legal contracts they make with one another, how could that be bad for the sport?

What do you mean "sovereign nation shit"? They are a sovereign nation, why does McCain have any say governing foreign nations?
Indian Reservations are not sovereign nations. They were given the territory and right to govern that territory under the auspices of the US Government (their conqueror). Furthermore, McCain is only demanding that they conduct and report on their sporting activities - he isn't governing anyone. Calm down.

Anyway, I'm not here to discuss the plight of the American Indian - my comment is addressing the Bill proposed by McCain as it applies to boxing.
