I was at an NBA game sitting on the floor, the guy next to me kept heckling one of the players, saying he sucked, booing etc. The player came close to him on the court and said "how much money did you make last year?" The heckler just looked at him, the player laughed and said "I made $15 Million"....The heckler didnt say a word the rest of the game....
I find it hillarious that you guys think Oscar cares that people booed him......These guys dont give a crap about some fans booing (especially if they didnt do anything to deserve it)

Hurt your feelings to know the athletes care more about money than the fansThe NFL has classes that teach the players how to be fan friendly and how being a fan favorite will increase the amount of money they make......I would bet money the speech Oscar gave about being embarassed about the Pac loss and not wanting to face anyone was conjured up by his publicist.........

Think about it! Of course he cares. A celebrities image is what sells. The more popular the image the more it is worth. Oscar's persona is a nice guy image with business savvy. If his images suffers so does Oscar. I think is much easier for the bad guy image because the popularity is born from controversy which will automatically put up a defensive stance. "the who cares attitude". The nice guy image doesn't have that.

If you were to say that about most professional athletes today, I'd probably agree with you. But I think Oscar DOES care about people booing him. Remember, he's all about ego, image and legacy. And getting booed by his own hometown people has GOT to hurt someone like Oscar.
As for what I think of it... well, probably nobody on this forum dislikes Oscar more than I do, as has been well recorded in the past. But even I don't think he should get booed like that. Doesn't speak highly of some of his "supposed" fans. Love him or hate him, he HAS done a lot for the sport of boxing (yeah, I really said that), and has had a great career (no, I'm not on drugs or running a fever). For him to get booed, probably on the heels of his humiliating loss to Pacquiao, is just wrong.... IMO.
