It has already been pointed out already by Danny_G that Floyd was using his elbows excessively against Hatton. I've also observed that he is using his elbows in (some of) his fights. I was assuming that it was part of his shoulder roll technique.

He doesn't use it offensively, and Hatton wasn't hit by it at anytime with a significant amount of force. He sticks it out sideways to block hooks. Like I've said he uses his forearm in the chin to create distance and set himself up for shots which is cheap, but what he does with his elbows is fine.

Its not even really part of his shoulder roll, if he was using his elbows to connect you would see it in his fights, but he doesn't stick his elbow in the guy's face, like I've said a million times he uses his forearm to make contact the elbow is just the best way to block the hooks in close.
