When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Freddie Roach said that Barrera tried to use illegal wraps in the Pacquiao first fight... That's the closest thing I've read regarding this topic...

What a load of bollocks, no doubt MAB can be a dirty fighter, but so are so many of the greats, but IMO there is NO way he would use handwraps or shit like that, he's a smart guy he knows the implications & just wouldn't do it. Roach is just stokin things up for the Khan fight.

That is my first time that i heard something like that about Barreras , that fight was one of my favorite fight , Barreras gave Hamed a really damn beat in that night , after that i never seen Hamed fighting again , about the question i don't think so .......Barreras is a great Warrior , but this a situation that now will put to all Trainers and Inspectors to check everything to their opponents ........................Barreras is a respectable boxer........![]()

No matter how dirty a fighter is, the opponent should be that much better that he can avoid those tactics, like Marquez getting hit while he was down, he should have avoided getting knocked down, or Manny getting hit on the break, he should have avoided holding.
At the end of the day, no fighter can really complain of any ilegal tactics because they should be man enough to deal out their own punishment or avoid those tactics anyway.
I do get annoyed with Holyfields use of the head but......a good boxer should be able to punch that head on the way in and deter him from trying it, the Tyson that fought Holmes would never have got butted by Holyfield.
If Hatton had not tried charging Floyd to the ropes he wouldnt have had Floyds foremarm in his throat, if Joe had boxed rather than tried to brawl with Bernard hed have boxed rings round him and not been groped and had his momentum choked.
If Castillo had thrown a shot while Corrales was on the deck, he may not have got up in time to fire back, anything for the win.
Every one is the master of their own destiny.

hell yea Barrera cheated against Hamed.............he wasn't supposed to throw punches at him, much less connect them, aaaaand he hit Naz way too hard. This is bullshit dude, sounds like something Cintron would write, especially after his now famous "nobody can hit that hard, it must of been a head butt"

brother, you have to stop putting pacs name in everythread. come on man... you make us look stupid here. no wonder they have every pacfan here. its one thing about being a fan but come on.. can you limit yourself? do you have an obsession of pac that he has to worry about? you remember that movie "the fan".. im afraid you might potray robert dinero man.
"speed is the essence of war"
sun tzu-art of war
That didnt seem intentional. it was brought up what if there was a case of barerra cheating before and etc, and he brought up a situation that had to do with the first Pacquiao fight. If its related to the context of the topic then why does Pacquiao being mentioned matter?
Its not like we are saying "NEVER MENTION PACQUIAO'S NAME IN ANOTHER THREAD"
It was relevant to the "does barrera cheat" discussion, so you shouldnt bash him for that, unless he just made it up.
Thanks for clarifying it to other members Bro Majesty that it's not really intentional... I also clarified it further in my previous post on this thread...
Barrera caught by Roach during his first fight with "Roach star boxer" in 2003 and Barrera fought Hamed in 2001... There's a possibility that Barrera might have used loaded wraps in his previous fights...
.
Pare, I will change "Pacquiao"'s name with something like "Roach star boxer" next time... Tho I explicitly mentioned above that that was the closest info I've read about the topic "Barrera cheating"...
Here's that actual article:
link --> Roach on Barrera's loaded wraps
"Roach said that he’d come across “loaded” hand wraps when his man (Roach star boxer) fought Marco Antonio Barrera the first time in 2003, in Texas. Roach said he saw Barrera’s hands wrapped with material used to form a cast, which looks like regulation gauze, but becomes rock-hard when wetted. Roach was able to get the Barrera people to junk the material he says was suspect."
