Manny Steward.. dude is one of the more level-headed color guys it seems.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
As I'm in the UK, I would have to go with Richie Woodhall, he never goes too over the top, and is pretty good at calling fights even if one of his closest friends (Calzaghe) is involved.
This is like voting for the second tallest midget in the circus. Aside form Bernstein, the other choices are grime. They either have verbal constipation (Merchant), sound like wannabe street toughs with horrible grammar (Atlas), or are nasal motor-mouths with whinny NYC accents (Farhood-the very worse). As far as I'm concerned, the least annoying announcer is the mute button.

i'd say it has to go to Roy Jones and George Foreman, although Foreman would get over excited sometimes lol but he would defend fighters from the favoritism of HBO especially in the Jone/Ruiz fight, Sean O'Gradey also is a decent commentator
Picking Teddy Atlas here is almost ban worthy, its just in bad taste.
I don't even want to look to see if anybody did, it would just be too much.
Oh well, I did. CFH, that's disturbing.
I would go with Al Bernstein and I would go for Teddy Atlas as the most annoying human ever that allegedly came from human parents.
I disagree 100 percent. Teddy Atlas knows more than anyone of these commentator's put together about this great sport. Annoying level is pretty low compared to the HBO team I find Joe Tessitore more annoying then Teddy. It was neck and neck for me with Teddy and Bernstein but I went with the ex-fighter.
I dunno, I thought he was pretty fair on the Calzaghe-Jones fight, in terms of favouritism, I always think back to Jim Watt's ridiculous commentary on the Hatton-Mayweather fight, where he made it very clear where his allegiances lie![]()
Maybe I give more time to Woodhall because he took a training session at my boxing club and was a really safe guy, but I always thought by British standards he was pretty even-handed. I can't stand that Croft guy who does the commentary with him now though, he really knows fuck all about boxing. It always cracks me up when I see people goin on about Bunce on here because he is nowhere near as bad as some of the tools on ITV & Sky
Last night, I met Nick Charles who is a very nice guy. It turns out that he and I grew up in the same neighborhood in Chicago and have lots in common. He is a very nice chap. Steve Farhood was extremely friendly as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how real and genuine these guys were. I will change my tune on them. Very decent AND ACCESSIBLE chaps indeed and not into celebrity bullspit like Max and Teddy.![]()
