Khan gets no credit he foguht a fighter with one eye and did nothing to him.
Barrera caught almost all of those punches with his gloves.

Ok yeh Khan won.
Puttin aside the whole cut thing....
Khan fought someone who he has speed, "slickness", height and huge age advantage over, who was fightin with one eye and wasn't goin forward at him and all Khan could do is hit his gloves...
I mean WDF?
What did Khan accomplish?
He accomplished keeping Barerra from getting off. From not letting him get set. Not letting him land anything truly flush, and keeping his defense up at the times Barerra would try to get off. Keeping him at a distance and fighting his fight while never letting Barerra into it.
Khan accomplished a lot.
I don't think anyone on here is calling Khan a world beater after that, but that's not the point, if you look at the fight and see how vastly he's improved, that's what's important.
He wasn't really fighting a shot fighter, he was fighting the memories of Prescott and his own insecurities in the ring, which by that performance, in a fight which was touted to go either way before it began, is damn good in my eyes.
Credit where it's due to a great gameplan executed to perfection by Khan and Freddie Roach.
He opened a bad cut with his head and won a few rounds with flashy hands and then the fight was stopped on a technicality. I don't think he accomplished a lot at all. He showed a lot of improvements but he didnt beat Barrera fair and square.
Mick is right, the corner team was stupid and Marco obviously has his pride. It should have been stopped earlier. Khan did NOT deserve this win. It's sad to see a fight that promised so much end like that.
Well Khan always starts quickly. Barrera was covering up well and most of those combos were just rattling off of the gloves. Without the cut I imagine Barrera would have been a little more agressive early on, but I always expected Khan to start faster cut or no cut. What I expected to see was Barrera to gradually open up more and more and to unnerve Khan by still being there and constantly checking his chin. Eventually that pressure would have led to an exciting final few rounds where Barrera would hopefully have come through with his heart.
Getting cut so early and having to fish blood off his face every 30 seconds screwed up a lot of things. And it was caused by a headbut after all.
It was strange that in round 4 when he was talking to the doc and ref it wasnt stopped then. MAB said himself that he thought it should have been stopped sooner. Id like to hear what was said between them. And the cut was spewing blood the same that round as the next.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
All that i highlighted in black was because Barrera couldn't see out if one eye.
Khan did nothin to Barrera but give him the cut.
The least Khan could have done to show dominance over a completely shelled Barrera was Knock him down or somethin.
What did you give Khan credit for lasting 4 1/2 rounds with a Barrera who was covered up 95% of the time and on the ropes until the fight was stopped on a accidental headbutt?
