Look at Floyd, when he fought Coralles he insisted the fight took place at super feather as Diego was struggling to keep at that weight. Manny brought Oscar down to 147, Floyd brought Ricky up to 147.

B Hop brought Oscar, Tito and Pavlik up to fight him on his terms.

EVERY fighter who is expected to have a decent world class career is carefully managed, if they are not then his team are simply not doing their job.

Khan is only 22. He already has wins over a legend in Barrera, an ex world champ in Gary St. Clair. He's won the Commonwealth title and has wins over decent domestic opposition like Graham Earl, Michael Gomez, Willie Limond etc.

Show me another 22 year old fighter in the world who has a more impressive resume and who isn't thought of a potential superstar and world class.

No doubt you will reply 'well Floyd Mayweather was already fighting......blah blah blah', well if that's the lengths you have to go to compare him, against the greatest fighter of the last decade, a 6 weight undefeated world champ, an all time great and a first ballot Hall of Famer, then it kind of only highlights how absurd and over the top the criticisms of Khan are.

Oscar called Manny out...He already had the advantage...was Manny to just fold up and give DLH every advantage?.....

Trinidad was already a middleweight when he fought Hopkins...in fact a MW champion...He entered the MW tourney no one asked him to enter as a disadvantage to fight Hopkins...It was not a guarentee Hopkins was going to be facing Tito just turned out that way...so no one brought Tito up for Hopkins...

Same as when Hopkins faced DLH...Oscar chased him and jumped up to MW just to fight Hopkins...Hopkins did not call DLH out he accepted a challenge...Again DLH held a world title at MW (Regardless if it was due to a gift decision)

As for fighter at 22 being a prospect or haviong accomplished what Kahn has thuse far,,,

Fernando Vargas was world champion with an unblemished record by time he was 21 and by time he was 22 he had already beaten future HOF fighter such as Ike Quartey and Winky Wright...Who were in their primes....
Vargas was 10 years ago mate and if I remember was expected to be a superstar then.

    Read my post carefully.

Where are the 22 year olds now with resume's better than Khans AND who ARN'T considered to be super prospects?

Khan IS a super prospect, he has WORLD CLASS skills, if he doesn't then just show me all other 22 year olds (or younger) who have done more and are also disregarded as being just hype like he is.

The kid gets no credit, yes he a suspect chin, but in every other department he is outstanding.

People are criticising him for beating an old Barrera as if its not a big deal but what other absolute ring legend recently has been beaten by a supposed nobody and a hype job?

Actully you said show me another 22yr old fighter in the world...I just did not put the current version into it...

ha well I think it's clear that current is implied

Show me another 22 year old fighter in the world who has a more impressive resume and who isn't thought of a potential superstar and world class.

But actually even if ignore the current fighters it only demonstrates the point. Vargas is one of the superstars in boxing, at 22 he was one of the hottest talents in the world, even now he's one of the most popular fighters of the last 10 years having fought all the p4p best and legends around his weight class.

So if you are comparing Amir to him then that's pretty high praise for young Khan methinks.

My point is everybody slates Khan as if he's done nothing and is nothing more than sheer hype yet his resume speaks for itself.

He beats Barrera and even leaving the cut aside people are saying they won't give Khan credit as Barrera was older, smaller, slower etc and had all the disadvantages.

All I can think is well didn't Manny Pacquaio and Juan Manuel Marquez come up from the SAME weight class as Barrera to fight in the new SAME weight class as Khan, and in Manny's case higher again?

Didn't they both smoke their world champion opponents?

Manny destroyed David Diaz, he then destroyed Oscar at 147. Marquez destroyed Casamayor, and then destroyed Juan Diaz (a fight in which oddly everybody gave Juan Diaz tremendous credit)

Then young Khan, the useless club fighter, with a glass jaw and overhyped talent pitches a 5 round shutout of Barrera winning every second of every round, and it's not big deal, he deserves NO credit.

It's just plain hating, I'm not saying from you, but from so many people on here in general.

It was a fantastic performance by Khan, shame about the cut, but Khan by dominating every single round put the question beyond doubt.

HAHAHAHA Missy's come out of hiding then, armed with nothing but cheap shots and petty insults HAHAHAHAHA !!!!

You know what you really are a fucking joke Missy, every excuse in the book, tell me why didnt your man quit in the 4th when he had the chance eh, then it would have been a NC.

Why couldnt your man knock out glass jaw Khan, who I seem to remember you saying a puff of wind could blow over, i mean if Prescott can (who ?) why couldn't the supreme Barrera. He even came out after the doctors visit in 4th to really go at Khan and within 20 seconds Khan was beatin him up again.

its all the cuts fault eh, not like he wasnt getttin outboxed before the cut either.

You are a self-rightoues fanboy who can't get their head out of their arse for 1 minute to actually watch the fight and see the truth, Miles i can understand he's hurting but at least he isnt being a complete and utter sore loser about it.

I dont usually stoop to this level but after all the BS ive heard out of you in the run up to this fight you deserve it. MAB lost fair and square get over it ! Oh heres the full fight in good quality if you care to watch with the blinkers off:

Hiding? From what, you? You weren't the idiot I was dressing down on Saturday night are you?

Have you actually taken the time to read the posts? I doubt it.

What excuses have I made? The fact that Barrera had a 2" axe wound in his head? Sorry I made that up and photoshopped that picture

The cut happened in the middle of the 1st round, you don't honestly expect to predict the outcome of a 12-rounder from that do you? Actually I expect you do.

I do like the part where the 1-eyed Barrera throws a left hook and Khan staggers...you may want to watch that again

No matter you're gone from the thread because I'm such a sore loser and you like my jokes

Missy, I'm sorry but it ain't really on banning him from the thread even if what he said was stupid. It's all part of what happens especially when you make a big deal of something before a fight. Look at all the stuff Chino & Onixaa got after the Mosley-Margarito fight & the ODLH-Pac fight. I don't doubt that one or two of Miles, leftylee, SaddoBoxer & BruceLee will be getting a lil bit banter after the Pac-Hatton fight. It's just one of the things you've got to deal with, I'm sure if Mayweather comes back & gets beaten by someone I'll come in for it as well.

Fine, if you did it to take it off the main board that's cool, but then you close the other thread in Let's Get It On, giving him 10 minutes to respond. You've just abused your powers as a Mod, and that's a shame because you're one of the posters on here I respect. Personally, I dunno who this guy is or really give a fuck, but even if its a tool like SaddoBoxer you still gotta play fair with em.

    Cool Re: Another kahn critic

I could see two things happening. The thread turning nasty and personal or one of us leaving. So I made my choice. My suggestion about taking it off topic reflects him claiming I was in hiding in another thread I'd not seen. So all things considered I think I made the wise choice, don't you?

If that was it fair enough, although it didn't seem like it was headed there that quickly, but for the main board, fair call, but you then closed the other thread not really giving him right of reply, sorry but IMO that's just not on.
