The hangover is horrid, horrid thing. People always say that you should drink water before going to bed, but if I've been on the beer then I'm usually in no state to remember to drink any water. So, maybe that helps but I don't know.

When I do wake up with the dreaded hangover and that pounding head and dead all over feeling, I find drinking a lot of water helps somewhat. I also find it helpful to make sure I fill my stomach and a bit of a fry up helps. Some bacon and sausages with a bit of juice and toast. Then a boiling hot bath. By that stage I'm on the mend and with a few cups of hot tea, I'm just about ready to start drinking again!!

Try to have a few none drinking days between sesssions too so the body can rest. I will typically drink on one weekend night and one weekday night if I'm feeling restless. Age just makes the hangovers heavier and tougher to deal with though.

Yeah, hangovers are about dehydration. But I find that even though I wake up thirsty, the water doesn't really settle my stomach. You can always try the preventative approach. If you know you are going to do some serious drinking, then drink water along with your beer or whatever, and the hangover is pretty minimal in the morning.

That is common sense. One of my friends here always does that and he says he wakes up at 7am after a night out in okay shape. My problem is that when I'm drinking I just want to guzzle beer and nothing else! Recipe for a hangover!
