Apologies. I have not read a previous post. I just watched this fight on Tivo and was not surprised that it was boring and nearly unwatchable.

A really, really tedious fight. Sam Peter seems to be on the slippery slope. I cannot believe he came in so heavy for this, to be outworked by Chambers takes a special kind of conditioning.
Well done to Chambers, though he seems to be a bit of a fatty too.

I like that Eddie won, but I am disappointed that he only did "just enough" to win. He should have threw way more punches.
Eddie Chambers does have fast hands there were times where I never even saw a punch he threw but as he was breathing heavy I just had to assume he got done with a 6 punch combo
Sam Peter, Jesus Christ when did you hear about this fight?? You knew it was a BOXING match and not a pie eating contest correct265...he hasn't been in good shape since he was weighing 230-240, I think the Klitschko's just took his heart, h ehasn't fought with any passion in a long time.
What is it about the Nigerian heavyweights? One second they look like a cold blooded killer in the ring and the next they are either bat shit crazy, big fat blobs, or chinny as all hell.
Jesus what a boring fight. I was picking Sam going into it, but as soon as I heard he was coming in at 265 I immediately changed my pick from Sam by KO to Eddie by boring decision. I don't understand a guy like Peter. This is your comeback fight after getting EMBARASSED and beaten to a snot, and you can't even get motivated to get in shape for it? My god. Good show by Eddie though, I like him despite his small size and lack of power.
The undercard really left a sour taste in my mouth. Teddy made a point that I whole heartedly agree with, that these olympians should be fighting stiffer compedition earlier in their career. I really, really hate these "record padding" fights. And I know you have to ease these guys along, but fighting a guy who was like 8-7 with 1 KO, or a 36 year old guy making his pro debut, thats just terrible IMO.
They should really take into accoutn the number of amateur fights a guy has had and how far he made it (olympics, ect) when making these fights. It was 3 guys who had no chance, and everyone knew they had no chance. It was just lambs being lead to the slaughter. I know this is nothing new, but seeing all those guys go down in rapid succession really left a bad taste in my mouth. Thats not what boxing is about.
Well shame on Peters management team for putting him in there with Chambers in the 1st place. You do not put Peter in there with a fighter that has faster hands and that gives enough movement that will give him problems all night especially after the brutal beating that he took from Vitali. There will be a next time for Peter but I hope that they pick the opponent that is right for him. Because if a boring fighter like Ruiz is still around then Peter will be a contender for quite a while too. I'm sure Andrew Golota or Frans Botha would take the call if Peter needed an opponent.
