Re: History Channel Expose on Roy Jones Olympic Controversy
I lived in South Korea (Itewong Dong in Seoul) during that time and actually saw the fight (as well as many other sports ativities). It was unreal. The other guy, Park, apologized to Roy after the fight. Everyone in the arena knew what was going on. The judges were rotten to the core and were suspended afterwards, but right there and then, the crowd reaction was mixed as if they were in shock but still happy. I believe Jones received the award for being the best fighter of the tournamemnt. He beat the crap out of Park. The entire matter was a disgrace and I believ contributed to Roy's later reluctance to fight outside the U.S.
