The difference between both sets of fans (in my opinion) is that Hatton's fans are genuine boxing fans and are DEDICATED to following the hitman where as alot of the pac fans (seemingly 95% of the Fillipines...) come across as casual fans who are more interested in the man himself than the sport he's competing in.. riding the bandwagon I guess you could call it.
I beg to disagree. FYI, boxing is a way of life in the Philippines.

I don't know how you would define boxing fans though.

When Manny fights, the whole country(Phillipines) watch it. Expected crime rate is zero during his fights.
I would define a boxing fan as someone who watches fights all the time and who has the ability to discuss a wide range of fighters from different eras, weight classes and nations. I really don't think boxing is a way of life for most people in the Philippines. Of course, there are boxing fans, but most people just know Manny Pac and that is where the knowledge ends. Perhaps they will know the name Morales or Marquez or Barrera, but they won't be able to discuss those fighters in any depth when challenged. Same in the UK when it comes to British fighters, but then I wouldn't describe boxing as a way of life in the UK!
LOL. I violently disagree Miles. Boxing is also a way of life in UK.
