More pros,managers etc need to be open and make comments on this one, others sports where you are caught cheating don't impose a local ban, it's at least national or in most cases international. he's lucky no one has been mentioning possible criminal charges (or have they ?) As Miles says it's a hard enough sport without risking your life further to a cheat, I have deleted his fights from my hard drive now as they no longer impress me as i don't know if any are real results.

Absolutely. I hate how a lot of these athletes play it safe and withhold comments that can really shake things up just for the sake of not breaking some sort of useless "code." Speak up, and call someone out if you need to.

I don't want Margarito permanently banned, if anything I want his return to come around sooner!

Before I get flamed down the only reason I want this is out of curiosity. Is Tony as good as we thought? Can he beat Cotto again? Obviously every fight on his record is now questionable. I want him to come back so I can see if he can be as menacing with legal wraps! For all we know Maragrito could grind Cotto down into submission all over again, if they banned him forever we'd never know if that was possible!

Obviously from a moral standpoint I'm with everybody else, it's just out of my own curiosity that wants me to see him fight again!

I think there has been an element of people standing by Margarito before the verdict/findings came out.

What (some) people have made a deal over is that a Mexican is speaking out against a fellow Mexican.

I think the deal in this forum as well is that people like Cotto very much so the fact that Margarito beat Cotto the way he did and even though he WAS CLEARED for that fight people still will throw crap at him no matter what. If Margarito fought Mayweather or ODLH instead of Cotto and beat them the same way and later was caught vs Mosley, I wonder if people would make a big deal out of it and come up with all these countless topics about his wraps, making fun of him, etc.

You know... just out of curiousity... how exactly do you "clear" a Margarito for the Cotto fight? Not wanting to start World War III here... just want to know. Think about it. It wasn't even an issue during or after the Cotto fight. How exactly do you "clear" a cheating fighter from his previous fight? Did the wraps from THAT fight get dredged up from the garbage dump and examined the way THESE wraps were? And if not, then how exactly do you "clear" Margarito from cheating in the Cotto fight? I'm just curious. I don't know... maybe I'm going out on a limb here. But if he was gonna do it for the Mosley fight, until he got caught, that is... isn't there just the SLIGHTEST possibility he may have gotten away with it for the Cotto fight, and who knows how many others before it?

Good point Tito but if we assume he used in Cotto fight then i guess he must of used it in the Clotty, Cintron and Williams fight also right. Not necessarily. It's highly unlikely it's been a career-long thing. He may have first used it for the Cotto fight, who knows. My point is that I don't see how you can "clear" someone, when the evidence, or lack of, is long gone with the garbage trucks.

Nope, no need for III World War but someone even started a thread and shared links to different sites that had these articles talking about how Margarito was cleared from the Cotto fight after it. Would be interesting to pull those links back and see how it was. I would agree with you, I mean, they would have to go back in time and check his wraps. But those articles said he was cleared however they did it.

I'll say so. After being caught, his past victories are now questionable. But then again, isn't there the SLIGHTEST possibility that he didn't cheat vs Cotto?

Like I have said before, I am not sure if people would really make a big drama if he was defeated by Cotto and then caught cheating before the Mosley fight. I wonder if Margarito beat the forum's hated Mayweather and ODLH before the Mosley fight, would people really complain and come up with more than 10 threads a week about Margarito being so bad? I can imagine seeing a drastic change in attitudes if it was not Cotto who Margarito beat and later found cheating vs Mosley.

not sure what you're pushing here chino. It's like looking for God. No evidence but people are going to believe whatever they want. If people want to believe he cheated because of the way he eventually got to Cotto then that's up to them but I can't convict someone on that.

It's true people will question his previous victories but damn what were those commission officials and opposing fighters representatives doing to miss it? It seems they only got caught out because the gauze pads looked used.
