The Bears gave up too much for Cutler AND he has nobody to throw to. Cutler has a good arm, he is hit or miss though....he needs a good running game to support him and a good defense. He's better than Orton or Grossman but I am not sure he's the cure all for the Bears....now if he was on the Vikings or the Panthers then yes they would be the best team in the NFC but the Bears....eeeeehhhhh, I'm not sold on them.
Chad Pennington doesn't have a strong arm but having a strong arm doesn't make you a great QB....Ryan Leaf could chuck the ball like 80 yards but he was faaaaaar from being a great QB. Joe Montana didn't have a great arm he just knew where the WR's were and read the defense and made the plays. Michael Vick has a strong arm but he SUCKS...yeah, I said it, Michael Vick sucks...he never was any good at being a QB, he could run but he couldn't read the defense and he could make the difficult passes.
And Jake Delhomme....I hate him...I wish we had MY BOY David Gerrard (ECU Alum.)...that dude can sling it! He's the best of Byron Leftwitch and Michael Vick and none of the bad stuff.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
The bears gave up too much for Cutler? You are crazy.....the guy is a proven pro bowler that holds the Broncos record for most yards in a season and has only been a starter for 2 years (even though Elway played there for 15 years).
The bears last 5 of 8 1st round picks were BUSTS so to say we gave up too much for a proven champ is crazy. TOO MANY FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS ARE BUSTS.
So Cutler is a cry baby? So what was John Elway and Manning? Both of those guys were babies and said they wont play for the teams that had the first round pick if they draft them........ALOT of the great players in the NFL are babies.....
Cutler has a MUCH better chance of being a star in the NFL than the two picks we gave away in the draft.....

I'll say this if you are a GM and feel pretty damn certain that you can get a young pro bowl QB to build a team around then I think you pull the trigger.

Always liked the Bears. And Cutler, whatever else can be said about him, has the tools. If the Bears defense performs to its normal standards, and the running game continues getting better with Forte, I can see good things happening for the Bears in 2009.
You used to not have the QB, now you have the QB and don't have anyone for him to throw to...it's the virtually the same problem. In Denver Cutler had Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, and Brandon Stokely...those guys are pretty good when you compare them to Rasheid Davis, Earl Bennett, and Devin Hester.
The Bears needed to sure up their defense more because they aren't what they used to be and beyond that draft a big play WR.
Comparing Cutler to Elway? Cutler couldn't carry John's jockstrap.
