Why plastic?

Theyre pretty popular here in the states,theyre faster or something

If i had a shitty job like that, the one bonus is using real handcuffs.......not plastic shit. The plastic ones could get shot off. then what? you have an injured man with a broken plastic handcuff on his hand. A frightful situation.

Ive never had them on me,and Im not in law enforcement,but they do seem to be increasingly popular with law enforcement. I know most riot squads use them almost exclusively.
I would guess its because theyre less bulky then the traditional metal ones,and you can cuff multiple suspects quickly that way.
