Is this fight actually happening or just speculation. Zabs next fight in May will be at 142 i think?? Seems he is more so maybe on his way down to 140. I don't think Zab will be fighting Margarito
I'm just echoing the thoughts of a few other posters in this thread, that no one should bother with Margarito for at least the one year period! After that time if he gets his license back then I'll worry about what he does. But for now I feel he should be avoided like the plague, if you do the crime you gotta do the time imo!!!
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
C'mon people... Margarito was found to have plaster-type substances in his wraps. He and his trainer showed little regard for the life and health of other fighters.
The only fighting Margarito should be doing now is with Bubba "Foot-long" in a small prison shower room.
I don't feel Margarito should be allowed to box any longer really, he fully deserves a lifetime ban from the sport if you ask me. However it does intrigue me as to whether he would be effective at all should he be allowed to get more fights. I suspect that he really did load his gloves regularly, it would be somewhat satisfying to see him return just to prove to be a powder puff and lose to a solid guy who walked through his shots and pummeled him. I think the fact that he will be without plaster combined with the shots he has taken against Mosley and Cotto, then the layoff should make him ripe for the picking if he takes on a solid fighter after his ban. Obviously his stamina, work rate, and tenacity are proven entities; you have to wonder whether he will even be able to make a dent in any durable guy from hereon though. To me it was always a small mystery as to how he did hurt fighters to such an extent being that his punching form is so poor. As far as fighters wanting to stay away from him I really don't agree with that at all. It's fairly obvious to expect that he'll never be able to get away with the glove loading garbage again, I'd say that should give potential opponents more reason to fight him. Can you imagine any commission letting it happen again? I mean really. On top of that should anyone give him another beating they will no doubt be appreciated for it, the whole controversy would add notoriety to the fight etc. Hopefully Judah doesn't end up taking this fight as he would probably find a way to lose even if my hunch is dead on and Margarito is rusty, shopworn and nothing without his plaster.
