I read that Paul Williams has a longer reach than Muhammed Ali. Given that stat I duno how he managed to come a cropper against Quintana but he put it right emphatically in the return which is what matters. He could have cleaned up at welter with all those physical advantages but I think he will make a good middleweight.
Winky has been a great boxer but this late in his career with inactivity moving down two weights from lightheavy against abusy guy I struggle to see him winning . Wright has a fantastic peek aboo defence but it will be rushed from all angles by Paul and I can see Wright just taking a thrashing being beaten to the punch and coming off second best . Paul can really make a statement in this one and look the part but I feel Wrights experience will allow him to hear the final bell.
Winky found sucess beating smaller men moving up like Tito and Shane but he doenst hold those same physical advantages over Wiliams, plus he will be older and slower on Saturday
Williams will arrive on the superstar stage this weekend with an emphatic win over Wright. Paul UD .
This should be a real interesting fight. But I will also keep in mind that sometimes southpaws can make a real mess together and heads tend to clash more often than usual. But I'm going with Paul via decision over the Winkster. This might be a changing of the guard and the start of a superstar in Paul.

I'm also a big Wright fan and I think this fight can't be predicted...it really depends in what form Winky will show up...I hope he can do a Hopkins, but like someone said before here, he might also become an old man over night...great match up and I'm looking forward to it...

I have a feeling I am going to be very frustrated with the outcome of this fight if Wright comes in sharp, IMO he will probably block a high percentage of Williams' punches who will get credit for output while Wright is actually landing punches. I just hope its not the same sorry excuse for judges that did Jones-Calzaghe. I am tired of people landing piece of crap punches just to score points aka Collazo against Berto, Calzaghe against Hopkins and Roy JOnes. IMO its not eye catching at all, and its a weak substitute for real boxing.

I love Winky, but I think the inactivity, age, and weight fluctuations are going to catch up with him. Additionally, Williams size and workrate are going to be problematic for anyone, including Wright. I'll be cheering for Winky, but I think Williams outworks him on his way to a UD/SD. Winky will claim he was robbed afterwards (like usual).

You're right. Every single loss Winky has he made an excuse for or claimed robbery. But in this fight I had trouble trying to find a winner. Now that it comes close I think Winky wins. He'll keep moving forward with his tight defense, constant jab, and force Williams back. He knows letting Williams back you up is horrendous. The guy's workrate is machine-like. This will be problematic but Winky can walk through anybody's punches with his defense and so he'll be forced to force Williams back.

And the same with Bradley against Holt. The funny thing is that when asked about it afterward, Roy's response was that the "pitty-pat" punches may have looked a lot like "pitty-pat," but they sure didn't feel like them. You should go back and check out his quote. You'd be surprised.
That is just your opinion and you are entitled to it. Personally, I don't like the Holding-and-Hitting style. That's just me.

We are talking about Roy Jones here. Of course he is going to have some defense. That said, Did you see his face after the fight? Bernard fought a tactical fight and although after the fight Bhop may not have respected Calzaghe's power, it is fair to say that he respected his ability. Bernard is a brilliant boxing tactician and Calzaghe outfoxed him, even if just barely. Even if you had the fight for Bhop or that it was very close, Calzaghe managed to make it his fight, which against Bhop is impressive.

I see it a lot like the Wright/Taylor fight. That being said I think Paul is a better boxer than Jermain and Winky is older now. I'll take Paul 7 rounds to 5 winning a lot of rounds on purely out working Winky. As long as Winky hasn't lost it over night there will be a winner but neither will be beaten if you know what I mean.
