    I don't know anybody in boxing who thinks that a long distance aerobic slog is better than a middle distance run with plenty of intense anaerobic bouts of sprinting ice.

    well sadly here in d.c. they see it fifferent...they go old school and want to do marathons..i've seen video of guysthat run marathons quit 1 minute into a sparring session due to lack of gas...so i agree with you three..lsd kilss...in more ways than one.

    plenty of people just pass on what they were taught and have observed. With more sports science folk geting involved things are changing slowly.

    I was thinking about this the other day, I read on another forum that someone was questioning the use of high rep ab work/medicine balls being hit in your gut (maybe another thread..).

    I'm considering that a number of these drills are more to do with mental conditioning than physical.

    Yes sprints are hard work and can make you puke but I'd prefer that than going for a distance run. For me it's mentally tougher to get up for that.

    Muscle has a long memory, Eyes dont. Its not all about whats seen to be done
