I'm a Calzaghe fan, he had a smashing career and some very good wins. You can't compare him to Joe Louis though in any way, shape or form in my mind.
Well for one thing they are form different time and eras and there eras are very far apart so it makes it even harder to judge them tell you truth. Louis fought so many bums they gave it a name Bum of the month club. As for Calzaghe well he fought alot bums so no one knew who he fuck he was so they did not even bother giving it a name i guess i dont care for either of them but both were good champions in there time but there is no way in hell you can compare them at all though.

Joe Calzaghe beats any fighter in the history of boxing at any weight, except for Manny Pac.

Different era, different fighters, different weight, different social times, different politics .......in my opinion Barry McGuigan should have fought Mike Tyson at catch weight, I give Barry 8.92 out of 11 against Tysons other opponents 2, who would have won between Basil Brush and Captain Pugwash........blah blah blah
Joe must have been quite liked though, he has an arena named after him with a statue in there and a big fist sculpture in his honour........

Except. for...(And I assume Prime vs Prime condition)
Henry Armstrong, Ray Robinson, Archie Moore, Michael Spinks, Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Joe Louis, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Carlos Monzon, Harry Greb, Sam Langford, Benny Leonard, Willie Pep, Sandy Saddler, Billy Conn, Alexis Arguello, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Pernell Whitaker....
To name a few
