Khan is really not very good, and I'm amazed by anyone who thinks otherwise. I hear him compared to Naz, but Naz had some serious skills and a BRAIN. That's the main difference between the two.

Khan has skill and is a decent fighter but he has major flaws in his game.
oeanyone else see this as an easy title shot for khan im not suprised he moved up a weight because if you look at who he would have had to fight at lightweight for a title he would have got killed by any of the title holders.
Plus anyone see steve bunce boxing hour, they were asking boxers about the worst champions at the moment and khan said "kotelnik because he is usless" yet on the sun website it says khan said "ive been watching his fights and he is impressive but freddie will make the right game plan". bet he wishes he didnt say that.

No way, Khan has made lightweight easy, Kotelnik has fought some of lightwelterweights best boxers and punchers and done well, Khan wasnt a big puncher at lightweight.
Im very surprised that Warren has gone this route, not only up in weight but against a very solid fighter, the only plus for Khan is that Kotelnik isnt a big puncher but on the other hand, im sure Kotelniks punches will hurt more than Gomez'sand in Kotelniks favour he doesnt really get hit much.
Im surprised Warren didnt try Castillo for a light welter match![]()
It is a winnable fight for Khan and sets up a big fight with Hatton later next year.![]()
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Hatton can sell Wembley out fighting Mayweather, JMM, or some other GBP fighter. He can do business with Oscar and not have to deal with Warren. I'm not saying it won't happen as it would do big business on Sky Box Office but Hatton would make similar money elsewhere and not have to deal with Frank, a guy he's now promotional rivals with. Maybe Warren sees it as the best possible moneymaker for him and Khan and gives Hatton the thick end of the purse.
Apologies but I set up a similar post around the same time as this so sorry for wasting anyones time, just wanted to say I am pissed off at someone else simply walking into a title shot that has not been earned whilst others at the weight have been grafting away to break the top 10 and get a legitimate shot. I still like Khan and think with time he could prove to be fairly decent , but can't agree with this at all.
So there are 2 guys already waiting for Hatton after PAC ruins Ricky, Khan and JMM... Even if Hatton loses to PAC, a Khan-Hatton or Hatton-JMM fight at Wembley stadium will be still a huge event...
But judging how Frank Warren was able to snatched Kotelnik from GBP/Ortiz, I think Frank will again be successful in setting up Khan vs. Hatton if Khan defeats Kotelnik...
.
they looked round for the softest title and hey presto Khan is in 'world class' etc.
Miles - Naz also had power and a decent chin. He didn't get put on the floor in 25% of his fights.![]()

Naz was always on the floor
Frank Warren just said on the radio that Khan's cut was worse than Barrera's because it was on his eye.. but no-one mentions it.
Oh and no chance of the rematch![]()
