Listen I was a Calzaghe fan the last few years of his reign...For most of it I thought he was the MOST protected fighter in the last 25 yrs but he came on strong in the end, jumping up a division etc

With that being said....
Joe Calzaghe could not wipe the ss of Joe Louis....This is a late April fools thread I am hoping...Calzaghe defended an ABC version of a title (The least regarded one at that) in his back yard 90% of the time....As for quality of oppopnents and the quickness to downgrade louis caliber lets review some of Joes again...

Tocker Pudwill...His previous 4 opponents before he faced Calzaghe were on 6 bout losing streaks..

Rick Thornberry...The last 6 opponents Thornberry defeated before Calzaghe faced him had the records of..5-26, 18-23, 1-0, 5-17, 0-2, 6-3....How the hell did they even give the guy a title shot

Some of these guys belonged no where near a world title shot...Or even on the undercard of a title bout!!!!

And the more credible names like Mario Veit, Byron Mitchell, Sakio Bika and Jeff Lacey were/are either over hyped or Top 10 Super Middleweight in the Divisions weakest era....

Like I said I am not trying to Dog Joe because I am a fan but lets be serious...His resume up until he fought Kessler was anything but Stellar with the exception of Eubank
