Hatton is super confident about this fight.
I already posted this in that absurdly long Hatton: Pac thread. But it's too long for people to trawl through, so probably better it gets its own thread.
Totally agree, Hatton is well up for this. I cannot see anything wrong with Hattons mental state. He is reflective but also working on new things and that is the best state to be in.
The Pac: DLH fight has built up expectations in Pac that are just not realistic. I think Hatton is going to chop him down to size. Pac is a smaller fighter masquerading as a bigger one for a few final pay days. He is going to be beaten up by Hatton though.
Nate Campbell? Are you serious?![]()
He wants to be the greatest 140lb fighter since Kostya.
Nice to see how highly he respects the guy he beat to become 'the man'
Good to see.
I think this is the biggest fight for Hatton since Tszyu (Mayweather he had little chance and a big excuse with it being at 140lb). He will show that sort of form and therefore Manny Pac will be dismantled.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Hatton sounds very confident and it's making me a little bit less nervous too.
I`ve been picking Hatton right from jump,Hatton said it best,The Hova victory maybe should not even be considered for Pac,DeLaHoya had NOTHING,AND COMPLETLY Dehdrated! The last prime opponent Pac has fought was Marquez, and we all seen how cometative that was.Excellent fight that could go either way,and the winner deserve`s A fight with Mayweather easily.
I`m picking Hatton in A BRUTAL 12 ROUND ANIMAL Mauling.
I see it as a bit being defensive when Hatton constantly repeat in his interviews that he's the man at 140; that he's unbeaten at jr. welter and no one expected him to bulldozed Tszyu...
I see it as being defensive rather than more confident... Just my own personal opinion tho...

Pacquiao's left hand
...and Pacquiao's right hand
They're well oiled and sharpened ready for May 2.![]()
The big question with Ricky will always be how he has treated his body in between fights. When a fighter balloons up and down consistently in his career...it's always a recipe for disaster. If he is in fact in great shape and has sharpened his skills under Floyd, snr...then we might have a good fight. But if he come into the fight with his usual come forward, no plan B attitude...even the undersized fighter will dominate him with his superior speed and skill. For Pac...we shall see if he is pushing his luck fighting at 140. Hatton will be fresher, naturally than Oscar ws...so Pac will be facing a more live body in there. We shall see.
Pacquiao, the Bali bomber look-alike, is indeed the bigger man in this fight as well as the faster and stronger one. I think Hatton will be coming into this fight as a huge underdog. He has a lot of work cut out for him.
However, I think it cannot be left unsaid that there was something in the run-up to the De La Hoya fight which I find needing clarification. In Pacquiao's training camp, it was reported that Pacquiao didn't felt well for a couple of days. When Roach was asked about it, he replied that Pacquiao was just getting used to the "vitamins" they were giving him. Pacquiao's physique, which has morphed into bodybuilder proportions, is rather intriguing when you take it in this context. One can say he's achieved it through hard work and strict dietary regimen. But then again, there's also the possibility that some so-called "vitamins" aided in that effort.
I would suggest that Hatton demand drug/steroid testing for both fighters prior to the fight, just to make sure no one's enjoying any unfair advantage. Secondly, it wasn't long ago that another of Bob Arum's fighter, Margarito, was caught placing plaster-like substance in his hand-wrap. Not that I suspect Pacquiao would ever do such a thing. Since Freddie Roach closely supervised De La Hoya's handwrapping, I think it's only fair that Hatton's people should also tightly supervise Pacquiao's hand-wrapping.
Sorry, rules are rules. You can't say Pacquiao's an exception or that conducting tests or supervising handwraps would be translated as jealousy or accusations. Hatton, being the underdog, should see to it that everything is according to rules.
To assume that Pacquiao's a model of integrity and therefore should not be subjected to these tests/supervision is absurd. Remember, Pacquiao's been known to renege gentleman's agreements and contracts.
After everything's buttoned up, may the best man win!![]()
