Police: Miguel Cotto and uncle exchange blows

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP)—Puerto Rican police say they are investigating an alleged fight between WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto and his trainer, who have had a sometimes combative relationship in the past.
A statement issued by the police says the elite boxer and Evangelista Cotto, the fighter’s uncle, exchanged blows Wednesday after a heated argument about training at a gym in the champ’s hometown of Caguas.
After the bruising scrap, Evangelista Cotto allegedly threw a cement block on his nephew’s 2009 Jaguar, shattering a right-side window.
Cotto’s spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
Puerto Rican detectives are investigating the incident even though neither of the men has filed a complaint.

Did his uncle have plaster in the gloves when he beat that ass too? Well either way the "concrete" has been getting the best of Cotto Lately.

Do you not realize how much he transformed Gatti (who has a very similar style to Cotto)?
McGirt hasn't been the most successful of trainers in recent times.

Cotto should go to Roach. Roach is a man of all seasons for all fighters. He will take anyone under his wing.

I wasn't being entirely serious. I'm not such a big fan of Roach either.

Cotto needs to learn to tie up when in trouble, Billy Graham is the man for that.

Buddy has always been on the low end for talent when it comes to training, he is just unlucky 90% of the time he is involved in a big fight that his fighter is the overwhelming underdog to begin with, that is no fault of him, or his coaching methods. IMO he is a great trainer who really cares about his charges.

his son was trained by him from the get go, and the only good training i've seen from Buddy was Gatti, not much after that, and he's had plenty of names, he got Malignaggi when he won the title, and what happened after that, 2 very shitty performances, i'm not sold on Buddy at all

I don't think Paulie's performances were Buddy's fault, the guy couldn't throw his right hand, I think Buddy usually gives pretty good advice, but like I said from the big fights I remember

    Klitschko-Brewster
    Mayweather-Gatti
    Dawson-Adamek

his guys were just outgunned. There was nothing a trainer could have done to change those outcomes at that point.
