I like the fact that Cotto does not hold. That is the mark of a true warrior. But in boxing, it is sometimes necessary and recently Mosley does it the best and the most strategically and Hatton does it the most annoyingly. Cotto ain't no biatch, but he should definitely hold a bit more, though he has rarely had to do so other than with Corley, Torres, and Margarito.
If Cotto and his uncle disagreed on moving to Florida to train, I see it as a good omen for Cotto. Seems to me that Cotto is taking his training seriously if he decided to move away from the comforts of home and train on the road, where it seems like he has no choice but to focus. The fact that he came to that decision independent of the controlling Evangelista gives me a lot of confidence that he will be victorious on the night he fights Clottey.
Cotto speaks good English and understands it well, which should help him work well with English speaking trainers. And Cotto has the skills to work with any trainer, whether it is a boxer oriented one like McGirt or this Birmingham fella.
