Default Darchinyan: Working on boxing history.

Let me be honest here, I dislike the guy.

For starters for the way he handled himself after getting completely anihilated and almost decapitated by Nonito 2 yrs. ago. I can still hear him say "I don't feel I was hurt".... "Maybe a knockdown but no hurt"...

He still had the balls to say "maybe" a knockdown... Clearly Nonito hit him a lot harder then we think.

But I gotta say since then, he's been on a roll. His wins are becoming more and more impressive. Aside from Catubay all of his last opponents were top rated at the time of the fight not to mention P4P rated Mijares.
I thought he beat Gorres and soundly by 3 points, but it means nothing at this point as the fight was declared a draw.

With his upcoming fight vs. Joseph Agbeko, Vic is working on boxing history. He is a former IBF Flyweight champ, current WBC, WBA & IBF Super Flyweight champ. Which means if he manages to defeat Agbeko he will capture the IBF Bantamweight title and thus placing himself in one of boxings elite lists of multi division champs and also becomes the very 1st Armenian to win titles in 3 different divisions and he also becomes Armenias greatest boxer to date.

You gotta applaud that kind of dedication, this dude went from knocked the fuck out to possible Top 10 P4P rated in the world in the blink of a eye. I think it's great that Armenia is producing some good talent. Arthur Abraham has certainly being holding ground for some time now. His younger bro. is begining to make noise and certainly Vanes Martyosan has some people talking.

So many guys fall off the map after being knocked out like that.

Gotta respect a guy who got up, dusted himself off and is going ahead looking for big fights and making history.

Agree completely. He is a beast. He is a fighter who really aims to fight the best. He already broke into the top ten p4p on my list and a win over King Kong will move him up a notch.

Agree totally guys - what he's doing is really incredible.

No need for him to be such a dick about it though...

Vic, Campbell, Mosley, and Pavlik are my favorite current fighters.

I think Vic is a cocky little prick, but he is charismatic. He backs up everything he says. I think he goes in and tries to decapitate everyone he gets in the ring with. I feel he doesn't have a plan B sometimes in there. If he touches them with his left it's over.

Nonito put on a great performance, and Vic was messed up. I agree with the stoppage. But Vic is tough as nails. I believe he might have made it outta the round, but I just think he underestimated his opponent.

I think Vic should be considered for HOF after this win. I can't figure out why I didn't put him down as comeback fighter of the year last year??

He's one of my favourite fighters, you've got to respect the way he's taking on challenges like this. I'm not bothered about fighters who make their mouths go if they back it up in the ring or take fights that show they think they're as good as they say they are, and he definitely does that.

He'll walk all over Agbeko. I hope he fights Izzy or Rafa next.

Vic is on a streak like few others at the moment.

He's become one of my "can't miss" guys to see. I enjoy his personality outside the ring too, some of his prefight trash talk gets me laughing.

I read that rafa was having dizziness spells a month or so back while he was running. He and izzy did eachother in. Vic may come in at an opportune time if he manages to get either fight.

Good for Darchi that he's working to capture a title in his 3rd division... It will be good to see him join this elite list of multi division champs.

    6 division champs:
    - Oscar Dela Hoya

    5 division champs:
    - Manny Pacquiao
    - Sugar Ray Leonard
    - Thomas Hearns
    - Floyd Mayweather Jr.

    4 division champs:
    - Pernell Whitaker
    - Roberto Duran
    - Leo Gamez
    - Roy Jones Jr.

He won me after treating Mijares like a doormat.Even though Mijares fought a dumb fight,Vic is just so literally explosive...verbally and in the ring but at the same time very low key and 'cold'.He really derserves huge repect for coming back in such impressive fashion, taking on ALL comers and backing up his swagger. With Agbeko, its going to be intense and none stop. All that said...Im leaning towards King Kong

I am starting to warm to Vic, haven't been a fan but you have to give credit to a guy who has comeback from a heavy defeat and then beaten the best there is out there in the past 12 months!
Kirilov, Mijares and Arce are all good wins to have on your resume and he did it pretty easily too.
He will win the Bantam belt but let's not get carried away about Vic going to 122lb and taking on Juanma, Cabellero, Marquez or Gonzalez...IMO he loses to all of those guys. He should stick to 118lb and try and clean house there, he is 33 i think and if he achieved that then he has had a fantastic career.

    ThirdMan,
You know I didn't realize Vic was 33 for some reason I thought he was in his late 20's. Well then again it seems like 30's/40's is the new 20's the way boxing is going today.

I wish more fighters were like Darchinyan in the way that he will fight anyone. The fights he has taken since his defeat to Donaire & his performances have made him one of the best fighters around. He's making intiguing fights & fights fans want to see! I'm backing Darchinyan to beat Agbeko in a very difficult fight. I'd then like to see Darchinyan/ Montiel at 118 before Vic attempts an assualt on 122.

Agbeko drops his hands too often. Another easy KO win for Vic.
