The Manny Pacquiao Bobblehead Doll
By Tim Starks
Ohmygodohmygod I want one. It'll be handed out to select fans when Manny Pacquiao throws out the first pitch at a San Francisco Giants game on April 21 for "Filipino Heritage Night." (h/t Fred Sternburg)
Bonus quality promotional hijinks: After the jump, a humorous exchange of words between Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach and Floyd Mayweather, Sr., who's training junior welterweight champion for his showdown with Pacquiao May 2.
The story behind Roach's gift to Mayweather and the below note -- with Mayweather's response -- is here.
Mr. Floyd Mayweather April 16, 2009
c/o Ricky Hatton Training Camp
Las Vegas, Nevada
Dear Floyd:
Since Ricky is known for his battle with the scale and to make sure he will have no problem on Weigh-In Day, I have enclosed complimentary bottles of Fighting FIT by Freddie Roach, the 100% Natural Weight Loss Formula. It's Caffeine and Ephedra free.
Ricky will certainly look better in the thong he wore in the first episode of "Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7" after taking these and he will find this a much easier pill to swallow than the loss Manny will be prescribing him on May 2.
Three rounds, Floyd.
Best Wishes,
Freddie Roach

Photo caption: Floyd Mayweather Sr., trainer of Ricky Hatton, received an unexpected gift today at the IBA Gym in Las Vegas, where Hatton is preparing for his May 2 showdown against Manny Pacquiao. Top Rank press agent Lee Samuels hand-delivered a fancy box from rival trainer Freddie Roach. The box, topped with a bow and a “Second Place” ribbon, contained a bottle of vitamins (“The Undisputed Weight Loss Formula!” by BioJestic, endorsed by Roach) and a T-shirt with a web link by the “Undisputed Weight Loss Champion” that was meant to aid Mayweather’s fighter in reaching the 140-pound goal for the May 2 showdown. Mayweather, however, simply borrowed a Sharpie from a nearby photographer and scrawled, “Too Late” on the T-shirt (actually, it was “To Late,” but was soon corrected), pointing to Hatton’s six-pack of abs.
