Any journalist who says there's 'no way' Hatton can win this fight needs to find a new job. This is about as even a fight to call as there's been in the past year.

I am convinced Hatton will win and he will produce a performance similar as spectacular as the one against Tszyu. Hatton will not be denied. No way is Manny Pac winning.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
All these threads about Pac being a god, invincible, no flaws whatsoever, etc. make me want to cheer for Hatton even harder in two more weeks. I am Mexican but I will probably be singing the Hatton song on fight night!![]()
By all means, join 'em.At least that's what you can do for your beloved DLH after seeing him getting his butt kicked all over the ring by Pac. Trust me, you'll be doing him a favor by cheering his fighter. Oscar will difinitely appreciate it. I don't want you cheering for Pac anyways, coz you might be a bad luck.
That is a very poorly written "article". Nobody here is thinking for a single minute that Hatton is being remolded into a slickster, it's going to be the same old pressure but with more jabbing, combinations and and head movement. It's taking what was good from before, but refining it so that Hatton doesn't take too many unneccessary hits.
Hatton has always been an exceptional attacking fighter, but one who was becoming more and more predictable, and unfortunately it all unravelled as he got to the biggest fight of his career. It resulted in Hatton smothering himself and being unable to get off meaningful telling blows when he had Mayweather in a position he wanted. Hatton had to change after that. Mayweather was great but you can't help but feel that Hatton would have done better with a different approach.
Anyway, this is Manny Pac and I think Hatton is doing the right thing this time out. Training in the states for 5 weeks, running up the mountains at altitude, it's come to the point where Hatton knows what is neccessary for him to fight in the states. We aren't hearing about chest infections, or needing to lose lots of weight, he isn't developing cold sores. Hatton is seemingly right where he needs to be. And Hatton at his best is going to be a lot for Manny to handle.
Bring it on!!!![]()
I thought my Cotto-Clottey post was biased!! This one is just plain nauseating!
Hatton is not trying to turn himself into a boxer! Where in the world do you get that crap? Just because he hired Mayweather??
He wants to learn a few movements to add to his arsenal. Remember boxing is a game of inches. (or is that GOLF??)
Listen, the original poster may indeed be right about his prediction, but what good is this brand new PAC thread, only saying Hatton is chopmeat and a carved-up turkey?
I hope Hatton surprises this poster and catches an overconfident PAC coming straight in with a good WALLOP!!!!!
Not only will ricky lose but he might get knocked out.
Last night on ESPN Teddy Atlas delivered the "KISS of DEATH".
As I watched with anticipation, the moment of truth was nigh.
Teddy Atlas was going to reveal who he was picking to win in the upcoming bout between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao. All I could say is PLEASE DON'T PICK Manny Pacquiao! PLEASE DON'T PICK Manny Pacquiao!
And then suddenly,
Atlas uttered these words: "I am picking Ricky Hatton to win"
YES! I yelled and I jumped out of my chair.
I was so delighted!
Everyone knows that when Teddy Atlas makes a prediction for any major fight, he is 98% of the time completely wrong, not only does he get it wrong, the fighters he picks get humiliated.
Too bad for the Hatton fans.
Thank you Teddy Atlas for delivering that Kiss of Death live on national t.v.
Now I can drop some serious cash on Manny Pacquiao to win.
I am going to have to go out on a limb here and say that Hatton will be knocked out in the 5th.
98 % of my predictions are correct, do you want to know why? Go back and read my post again.
.
The Pac fans and the propaganda offensive make it hard for me to like Manny. He seems like a fairly likeable chap, but his hangers on and supporters are on the whole an unlikable bunch (there are a few exceptions to that). A lot of arrogance and tunnel vision, and it really does detract from the good qualities he no doubt has. For sure, it makes more and more people will on the underdog, Hatton.
As for the Pacnfanatics, It just makes threads worse getting into to it, let it go....
I've been looking at some of Ricky training videos and he looks pretty good. The last one I looked at he was at 150lbs, 5 weeks out. Conditioning wise, he's ready for a 12 rounder with Manny. (not that I think it will go 12, but if Manny is doing that in and out shit it effectively it could) With Bayless being the ref, I don't think we'll see a lot of the Hitman on the inside. If Ricky is able to get to Manny on the inside, it will be due to Manny's mistake of impatience. I can see Manny wanting to trade with Ricky after getting caught with a good shot. If a slug fest is the result, bets are Ricky has the upper hand. From all tells, that is exactly what Ricky is hoping for. It could well backfire too if Manny is able to smother Ricky with blows. One well place shot by either fighter, or for the non-believers, lucky shot, and the fight is over.
People are underestimating Ricky's boxing skills. There is no way he'll look like De La Hoya did against Pacquiao. So you forget that out classing of skills crap. Ricky is not that slow and will being giving what he is taking at least on occasion. The other thing is Ricky is a master at cutting off the ring. He did it very well against Mayweather Jr. We all know both these fighters are pure warriors and will man-up to the challenge. That is why the fight is sold out!
I'm expecting this fight to be one of the best of the year and if chins survive, one of the best battles of the decade.
IMO, This fight is not about being the "better fighter" in the ring wins. It's all about who's first! The fighter that is first WINS! Just like your mom, dad or coach did in your corner, shouting "Be First". Why? Because they both have the power to do the damage, so one one who his first is the one to do the damage first.![]()
Good summise Johnny. Being first will definately count, although i'm unsure whether Pacman will have what it takes to knock Hatton out.
People really underestimate Hattons boxing ability and think its something he is trying to learn from Mayweather and get away from being just an aggressive pressure fighter. Ricky has always been able to box with excellent movement and superb footwork, just started to leave those skills behind, and now they are back again where they belong. Everyone will see them feet move and some great angles come out to play come May 2nd
That's how I feel too Miles.
I was watching Hatton's fights and there are many times where Hatton does a sort of charging left hook just like the one he did vs Mayweather that got him knocked down. I really hope he stops doing that charging left hook or at least try to be more careful. But you know, Pac somehow does the same thing with his charging left straight. One of them will have to make the other pay for that mistake.
