It's a fight that makes no sense at all. I hope it doesn't happen. Hopkins beat up Trinidad years ago, it wasn't a particularly close fight. There are no calls for a rematch whatsoever. Just retire for crying out loud.![]()

All i can think here is that King is trying all he can squeeze any more interest from anyone before trinidad calls it a day. I don't see hopkins wanting to take this fight, he's too much of a clever fox for that.
For the record, I don't like it either, and I have this urge to drive down to Cupey Alto and slap someone upside the head.
I find that hard to believe. But if it's true... then why oh why does Tito continue to pick naturally bigger, HOF fighters? Why doesn't he take a page out of DLH's book? Fight someone smaller, with a name. Matter of fact, although both are well past it... I wouldn't even have minded a Tito-DLH II. 'Cause although my buddies think I'm a traitor for saying so, I think B-Hop's gonna beat Tito even worse this time around. (sigh)
well Wright isn't naturally bigger, seeing how Trinidad is more of a natural Jr.Middleweight and i'd say the same bout Winky, they fought at 160 so i'd say it was even, also Tito was offered a shot at Pavlik right after the Jones fight but declined cause he said that he couldn't make 160 (sorry we both know that if he would take more time to make the weight, he could of effectively gone down), and then he was offered a fight against Taylor, but well Trinidad IMO is now hell bent on getting B-Hop, honestly i think Hopkins beats him in the first half of the fight, Jones had Trindad finished by the 6th he didn't finish him due to their friendship, i know for a fact B-Hop will stop Tito brutally, and honestly hope this fight DOES NOT really happen
Regardless... of Tito's 3 losses, 2 have come against naturally bigger men (Hopkins, Jones Jr.). No shame in losing to two fighters like Hopkins and Jones Jr. And yes... Tito seems bent on getting back at B-Hop, the man who took the "0" away from his record. But I'll say this... I'd rather Tito have lost the way he has than quitting on his stool against a much smaller man. And although I realize this is a sore subject, we both know who I'm talking about.
I don't mind seeing Trinidad back in action. But against B-hop again? This will not be a competitive fight.
Yeah..... I honestly don't see the point. Hopkins has remained active, and has a recent great victory over Kelly Pavlik. Tito's has seen little activity, and must be covered with ring rust. His dad should talk him out of it.
I would've wanted to see Trinidad-DLH II... but that was before I saw how bad Oscar looked against Pacquiao. Now I don't see any point in that one either.
Oh yeah... (drool, drool). What a hell of an entertaining fight THAT one would've been. But oh well... fighters eventually fade and need to go away. And as much as I enjoyed watching Tito over his career, his time is done, and like you said... no sense in him ending up like Benitez.

Doesn't look like Bernard is retiring...another article confirming the fight, looks to happen at the end of 2009.
