I personally have to agree with this assessment of Hatton's only chance of winning; to be able to just stay inside, get Pac on the ropes and maul him to death for Rick to win. And even if Rick is able to "fight his fight" it can't be a foregone conclusion that he would beat Pac.
You can bet Kenny Bayless will b under some pressure from somewhere to intervene any chance he gets, like Cortez did in the Mayweather fight. That right there is going to be a huge shot against Hatton.
I don't care what Floyd Sr. has taught Ricky; it goes back to teaching an old dog new tricks and Rick has been set in his ways for a long time. Even if Sr. had gotten hold of RIcky in his younger years and tried to mold him into a strict boxer, I still think it's just in Ricky to be an in your face, seek and destroy type fighter, and anything Sr. teaches him will fly out the window when this fight starts taking shape.
And if Bayless decides to be a nursemaid to Pac and coddle him then RIcky will get sliced to pieces. And as I said, even if he is allowed to fight that mauling brand of fight he is known for, it doesn't mean Pac is going to let him get away with it. Pac won't sit there on the ropes and let Ricky get off shots on him; he'll be going side to side and using his reachadvantage to pot shot RIcky the whole fight.
Imo Ricky has to get Pac's attention and respect very early on, in the 1st couple of rounds. The longer this fght goes the more advantage I see for Pac, as he just ges into a rhythm and like someone mentioned, Ricky's face doesn'thold up well after a while. Ricky might have a slight size advantage, in terms of height and I suppose just being naturally bigger, but that won't help him if he can't utilize it and is a bull chasing th matador around the ring.
I see this fight bein over before the8th; I just think Hatton is going to get abused. Rick is oneof my fave fighters and I hope he wins but I see him getting his ass handed to him. Hope I'm wrong. I am a big Pac fan{became one after the comical beating he gave Oscar, no matter what Oscar's excuses are} and also was impressed with his win over Diaz{no matter what Diaz's shortcomings are}, Manny beat him silly and impressively and knocked Diaz out for only the second time in his career.
This is going to be one not to miss though and I am getting anxious. I'd like to see Ricky take it as I've always liked those type of fighters that he is; not pretty to watch but sheer brutality, force and heart to win. I just think Pac is too fast and savvy, and his heart is as big as Hatton's.
