I agree, Mayweather will look at the Pacquiao KO and think to himself " I shoulda stayed retired" I don't think he can beat Pacman.

I thought it was a pretty desperate move, literally riding Pacs coat tails Imo.It may just boil down to Mayweather assuming his legacy-greatness intact, pouting & stepping aside and going hermit at his very peak. Manny just passed him by in a blaze. He not only filled the void but is standing on Mayweathers mass media pedestal.Pacquiao at this moment is the real money maker in their inevitable match up I believe.

There are two reasons he does this:

    1. Like Youngblood said, there is a huge audience

    2. Its just like Floyd to get at people like he does so well, marketing genius

Its simple, he keeps that bad-guy, immature, money-hungry image that makes so many come to see him get beat and lots of people hear it.

It doesn't take away from Pacquiao-Hatton, IMO he should have done it today instead of yesterday, but once again he had a huge audience already paying attention to boxing when he did it. I just wish people in the general media really knew how good Marquez is, and how good this matchup is.

I thought the same thing! The announcement being the same day of the Hatton/Pacquiao fight was trying to steal the fight's thunder.

Too bad Manny made the statement he made because it completely overshadowed Mayweather's return. I love watching Floyd fight but boxing was fine while he was gone.
