And talking about still being involved with boxing through his promotions doesn't sound like he fancies fighting again to me.. not at the moment anyway.
I know he's concussed, but he's got previous in the excuse department, '147, Joe Cortez'. I probably am being harsh as I plain don't like the guy (he's as manipulative as people come IMO with his PR), that's why I probably see everything he says in a negative light.

How the hell can you perceive hatton has manipulative??

oh because he doesnt slag off his opponents and bitch talk like so many other fighters.

surely thats called having respect for your fellow man??

or maybe its because hattons taken the easy route throughout his career by fighting the best fighters whenever possible and breaking away from warren other than calzaghe who chose to spend the prime of his career boxing in cardiff arms park infront of one man and his dog
    one dangerous horrible bloke

Its really good to see that he is trying to remain positive and
is already thinking of his future after boxing

Ricky also hints there were a few problems with this camp ...hmm
i wonder what ... *cough cough* Floyd ....

    Enjoy
"If it wasn't for the knockout things might have been different'? Ricky hasn't fully recovered when this interview took place, i wonder if Joe Frazier thought if it wasn't for the 6 knockdowns in the first 2 rounds i would have got big George in the next!!! That's boxing alright.

To be fair he probably hasn't even looked at a playback of the fight yet. When he sits down and does that, it will hit home just how outclassed he was.

I really think he could have done much better, but not by performing like that and constantly inviting the chin to be checked.

He's manipulative in the sense that he's got people repeating all the stuff that he himself repeatedly claims in every single media appearance he does: 'I'm humble', 'I still go for a pint with my mates', 'I'm a family man', 'I'm just a lad from a council estate'. I have no doubt that these claims are true, and that he'd be a laugh to go out for a pint with and is generally a friendly, caring guy, but I'm just sick of hearing about it.

I just don't see what the big deal is, so he still has the same hobbies that he had prior to fame and he didn't disown his family after getting rich - but seriously how many fighters actually do that sort of thing? Did Lennox Lewis stop playing basketball with his mates and just stay at home eating caviar? Did RJJ stop hanging out with his obese training partners back home at his swamp in Florida? Does JMM, RM, MAB, Erik Morales car pool to the gym and spit out the window at the Mexican peasants on the way? Did Shane Mosley stop driving his car to the gym and insist on a horse and carriage? ............. clearly I could go on

The reason these assertions are repeated over and over in the media is to get the fans singing from the same tune by having something to relate to him with, so they will come over in their hordes to support him and part with their cash. Again, I have no problem with that as he provides entertainment to a lot of people in doing so.

What I have a problem with is this hollier than thou attitude it suggests towards other fighters, in making these claims he suggests that the MAJORITY of fighters forget where they come from and become arseholes once fame arrives. Yes Tyson went nuts, and Hamed turned out to be a tosser, and Mayweather is a braggart, but those guys are in the minority.

You bring up Calzaghe in a disparaging way, yes he coula woulda shoulda done more earlier with his career, but that doesn't make him a worse person than Hatton. He undoubtedly wanted recognition for his talents but was unwilling to go above and beyond by attending every PR event arranged for him by Warren as he wanted to spend his spare time from training with his family and friends. Just cos he doesn't say it in EVERY SINGLE interview doesn't mean that he doesn't also value his family and goes for a pint with his mates. I suppose if he openly courted the media and arranged regular poolside holidays with premiership footballers (which you are probably regularly invited to by Ricky) then you'd also think that Joe is a humble person.

As for bitch talking, he gave as good as he got with Mayweather/Witter, and again the MAJORITY don't go overboard with boasts like Floyd or threaten infanticide like Tyson.

Anyway, I hope I haven't hurt your feelings and that you'll have comfort with your Ricky Hatton doll which churns out a tired cliche when you rub his belly 'don't listen to that Bomp, he's a liar and I want to be your friend.'

That's the name of the game though. I know it sucks to be beaten up, I've been beaten up (though never by a Filipino midget in front of an audience of tens of millions of people), and I know boxing is different than a regular fight/altercation. However, Hatton himself has brutally knocked out fighters, many of whom had accomplished only a fraction (if that) of what he has; fighters who had accumulated substantially less monetary (among other) rewards to show for their efforts. As long as he has his health, I can't feel too sorry for the guy. He lived his dream in front of millions of people, became a national icon, made tens of millions of dollars, has a (apparently) lovely family and soon-to-be wife etc. The only thing damaged with Hatton is his pride. Well, that's really not that big of a deal in my eyes.

I agree with everything you wrote friend (except for the midget part). I guess you're probably above 6'5 to consider MP a midget hehehe.
I'm not all that much taller than Pacquiao actually, however I decided to sacrifice some accuracy for the sake of (attempted) humor.
