Hatton needed to be changed to some extent, or at least improved in many areas, he just picked the wrong guy to help him. It's like Manny and Roach. Manny is much improved since hiring him than he was before they got together. Hatton and Naz were both never going to beat elite fighters without making changes first themselves.

I don't hear anybody saying that manny should have stuck with so and so. Some fighters learn new tricks and some can't.

QUOTE: that reminds me question to the first poster.... is Tszyu still making a comeback ?

No Ricky Hatton was his last fight, and that was four years ago now, and Kostya is 39.

I mean Ricky did what he had to do against Tszyu. It wasn't Kostya's night, as he has had better nights in his execution that what he did against Ricky. At the end of the day, Hatton totally controlled the PACE of the fight, abd was the better guy on the night.

Would Kostya Tszyu have more chance say in Vegas, with a ref who broke the inside action quicker, perhaps, as Tszyu style is on e that needs space so he can throw. He never really sought a rematch with Ricky, dont know mif he'd get one, but at the same time he didnt ask for one, and he took time out. One yaer became two, etc and he basicly let himself be retired. Now it's four years.

Officially, Tszyu said he's eggectively done in his most recent to date interview on youtube, though wont make it official until he engages some big new project, and cuts his pig tail. Word around, he's building roads in Russia$$$

Hatton was going to have a harder time withb Pacquiao, because ofthe style, best punch v a southpaw is the straight right. Ricky is mainly an inside fighter, so at range, HE PICKED THE WRONG TRAINER WHO GAME HIM THE WRONG INSTRUCTIONS. Head movement, get off it, that was just a plain bad strategy what ever Mayweather was cooking and the results speak for themselves.

At least the Tszyu loss was a relatively competitive fight and although he got caned on the wriong night, he did get Some things done did Tszyu in a relatively close fight in certain ways.

Mayweather embarrased Hatton worse than anything Tszyu ever did. Firsy thing i'd do would be blame the trainer who gave him instructions to fail. That was hopeless. Jab head movement. Every fighter Floyd sr gets, he wants them to be identical. I think the trainer has to adapat to the fighter.

Hatton can fight some other good names like Diaz, Judah, even perhaps a Mosely at the right price and still contend for a world championship. If Pacquiao gets beat by Cotto or Mayweather, they could both comfortably ignore eacj other Hatton and Pacquiao and do there own thing. Ricky is still a hard fight for most guys.

He'd still be in the top 10-20 after this loss in many opponnets eyes, a hard fight.

Best he take some time. Yes, Kostya was efefctively retired by Hatton. He had his turn at the top, which was a long one, World Champion 1995-2005. Tszyu supporters had there wins. Losing to Hatton didnt feel great, nor did the naysayers with quitting on the stool, as he was tough and never quit nything before.

Best to take stock, and see which guys are worth fighting for, before calling it a day. If he does go on they should both be interestiung capable opponents and sme good money, with the idea of winning a major 140 title, forget the p4p no1 thing. Very few fighters make it teir entire careervwithout a loss eventually. Pacquiao already has afew loses!!

Regards, chin up, you've got a good site here, keep your boy going
