hay i love your website !....but the old bulldog can't pick a fight anymore... i have lost my last 4 bets....hopkins v.s. pavlic = lost cotto v.s. margarito = lost da la hoya v.s. pacman = lost pacman v.s. hatton = lost..... i just can't win

but put a gun to my head....... i would probably go with floyd mayweather jr...... if he can get his punches off..... manny would be all over him !! from round one ! and floyd to me does not throw enough punches.

I'll be able to judge Floyd better after he fights JMM. No predictions from me right now.

If Floyd has slipped any, JMM might beat him. Walking away from the sport for 2 years while knocking on your mid 30's can take something from a fighter.

Floyd is now an unknown entity to me now and it is impossible to judge him until he fights again. If he has any new weaknesses, JMM is the man who will expose them.

Mayweather relies on counter punching and takes advantage of a fighters mistakes. He fights on the outside and uses what is often his reach advantage. He has seen many orthodox fighters and can handle them pretty well up to a good fighter level. As Mayweather has matured he uses less offense but has accuracy in his punches. A page from Muhammad Ali, he probably studied him as a role model, he likes to use the rope adope. Great fighters and South Paws Mayweather has problems with. While he has great defensive skill due to excellent body control but gets caught when covering against swarmers. He was open when he used the right hand lead to the right hook from Judah. (He has to reach) Judah has less precision and has less power than Pacquiao. Hatton and De la hoya have less offense than Pacquiao. Because Mayweather's heavy reliance on the counter and heavy reliance on using accurate punches to win fights on points Mayweather Jr. has got no chance to pull of a win against Pacquaio on points. Mayweather can't stand toe to toe against Pacquiao because Pac is too fast and Mayweather wouldn't do it anyway. There is no secret to Pacquiao, he works hard and comes into the fight prepared. He does a lot of basic manuvers the same as everyone else is taught in the Gym. He just does it really very well and fast.

Mayweather has to big a head to come into the fight as well prepared as Pacquiao. If he gets his head straight in preparing for a fight with Pacquiao, he has a chance but he will underestimate Pacquiao speed, same as everyone, and his lack of respect will be his downfall.

Watching Pacquiao in his last few fights, you have to think that anything is possible, but his is a step too far i feel. PBF is too big and his arms are too long.

My heart says Pac, my head says Mayweather. PBF just has such great speed/boxing ability and great ring intelligence, and I therefore feel like he would find a way to beat Pac, even though I'd really love to see Pac KO him. Having said that, I may change my mind after the JMM fight, depending on how he performs.

I'd make Floyd a slight favorite over Pacquiao. I don't think weight makes any difference, because I really don't think the weight/strength difference is that big at all. I bet these two guys walk around at virtually the same weight in between fights.

Now, Floyd would have a 2-3 inch arm length advantage, and that would be significant.

For me, what makes this fight so interesting is that Floyd could not simply outbox and outslick Manny for 12 rounds straight. Manny is too fast and too relentless, at some point Floyd would have to stand his ground and fight. I think Manny would bring the best out of Floyd.

You will see a big reach advantage against Marquez but against Pacquiao it gets nullified because Pacquiao is a SouthPaw. Take a look at mayweather/Judah and you'll see what I mean.

When the fight was announced did you not see how big Mayweather looked compared to Marquez, come on, Mayweather's bicep was bigger than Marquez's head!

and Pacquiao's never faced someone so technically skilled with awesome defense and IMO pretty close to as fast as Pacquiao, if Floyd is still on top of his game as he was when he retired, and i think he is, he should be able to beat Manny handily
