The issue with Favre is he never wanted to retire, the Packers tried to force his hand, he wasn't ready, they blocked trading him to the Vikings directly (which they probably could have gotten a lot more for him than they did) and now it looks like he's going to play for the Vikings just because he wants to show his old team up.
Both sides are at fault here, the only problem is The Packers can't really do anything after they have traded him away.
Favre hasn't done anything wrong, he's entitled to play in the NFL as long as someone will pay him....I'd take him on the Panthers any day of the week!!! He doesn't owe the Packers anything other than a simple "Thank you for taking a chance on me" which I assume the Super Bowl apperances did for him.
The Packers are invested in Aaron Rodgers ( a very capable QB) and they have moved on. The J-E-T-S (S-U-C-K) have invested in a new QB as well and they should be happy Brett has moved on as now their team can grow.
Why so much hate for Favre? Sure he went about retiring TWICE in a dumb way but the height of this irony is that a bunch of BOXING fans are angry about it.....REALLY
I mean all I have to tell you is RAY LEONARD and that should let you know where you stand on retirement issues in pro sports
