You didn't by any chance run into a short Fillipino gentleman who frantically spoke of "clocking dimes", Roy Jones music videos, and his free Lexus... nah, nevermind.

Great evaluation there Jaz, I owe you some rep!. I've literally just got back from Heathrow, me and 5 other lads spent 8 nights out there!
I also managed to meet Hatton himself and get my pic with him along with a couple mates. This was Wednesday night in The Nine Fine Irish Men bar in NY NY. Hatton was absolutely arseholed but was good enough to pose for a pic, it's on my mates camera but I'll post it up when I get a copy.
Must admit I did enjoy the weigh-in, although I totally understand where you're coming from on the Amir Khan front. I felt genuinely embarrased when they booed him, I still can't get my head around why but I'm sadly coming to the realisation that it's a race thing! I also had a little chuckle at the 'who are ya!' chants at Mario Lopez, it took me a while to figure out who he was. Who'd have thought AC Slater from Saved By The Bell was a huge boxing fan.
The booing of Hopkins was also embarrasing especially as he was praising Hatton (although I guess being GBP he had to). I stood and applauded both Marquez and Diaz as did the lads with me, unlike the clueless piss head beer boys you've already mentioned.
I too had a great trip but can't help but feel a little cheated by Hatton. Despite the pre fight banter on here I always thought Manny would win, just not in the way he did. Hatton did absolutely nothing that he said he would do and Roach was 100% correct in his prediction!
I just hope Haye does better for when I'm there in June for that fight, sadly though I give him less chance than I did Hatton.
Yeah, it was a good laugh, the random booing of Mario Lopez & the guy who 'had a few announcements' at the weigh-ins was silly though. I did find it funny when someone yelled at Mario Lopez, "Screech will knock yer out". Apparently he's one of Oscar's best friends.
Yeah, a load of people singin "you're shit and you know you are" at one of the best boxers of the past quarter of a century just pissed me right off. I was sat there almost thinking 'this is my sport, have some respect for it' when they were doing that, and the fact they couldn't even get Joe Calzaghe's nickname right said it all. Some of the idiots were even booing Mosley, although thankfully a lot were unaware of who he actually was, so decided against it until they'd heard more. Can't blame them, its not like Mosley or Marquez have ever fought a top British fighter on Sky Box Office, so clearly they're nobodies. I've said all I can about the Khan thing, but granted I'm pretty sure my girlfriend was supporting Pacquiao without telling me after that crap.
I too felt a bit cheated by Ricky more for how he fought than the result, if he had done what Floyd Sr had told him for even a couple of rounds, I wouldn't have minded but they might as well have sent Matthew ought there for how Ricky fought. Still I got the experience & a good undercard, I feel worse for all the people who shelled out for a PPV for the main event & got nothing.
Yeah, I don't see a Haye win, but I think he will also make sure the fans who shell out get their money's worth & don't get a Wlad snoozefest. Good on ya meeting Hatton as well, what was he like?

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
You get that at every show mate ! You get the old school well informed genuine boxing fans who go to watch some talent and you get complete arseholes who turn up 2 minutes before their mate come's out to fight and then fuck off as soon as he's done !
I fucking hate and loathe rascist dicks at any kinda sporting event !
I mentioned in one of my other posts that the thousands who went to watch Hatton are not Boxing fans ! My point being if they were then Jamie Moore could sell out his local leisure centre without any help !
As for Ricky what can you say ? we're all wise after the event I for one hope he continues he has slid down the mountain and the pain ,work and potential damage he'd take to get back to the top just aint worth it !
He's earnt his money he has a beautifull family and lots to live for , he can do plenty away from boxing .
