I'll repost what I said in another thread:

I think its ok for hardcore PacFanBoys to come up with all these threads about Pac being the greatest ever. It can get annoying sometimes but think about it. When was the last time you heard of a Filipino being under the spotlight as much as Pacquiao or achieve at least half as much? For other countries is normal to have not only one but MANY boxers in different weight divisions as champions and Hall of Famers. Think about Mexico, Puerto Rico, USA, England, etc. So let them be. It may last maybe 2 or 3 more years while Pac is fighting because after that, maybe other Filipino boxers will follow, which is good! More competition to the sport or maybe things will go back to how they were with no asian in the boxing spotlight for many years to come.

I'll put it this way, let's say that Bangladesh beat Brazil and other European teams in the World Cup and suddenly became competitive and dominated the sport, wouldn't Bangladesh have a lot to brag about, be proud, have Bangladesh people talking about their soccer team all day long, etc.? Well, think Pac now. Saddoboxer and hardcore PacFanBoys deserve to enjoy this ride while it lasts. I just shake my head slowly and smile when I see threads like this. It's all good really.

I am glad we have Pac in the sport. He brings excitement, big fights, and all the good stuff. A nice likeable humble guy.

Getting sick to death every time manny pacquiao fights, is nearing a fight, gets out of bed etc the main forum just becomes clogged with pacquiao fans talking about their hero.

I love the guys to death and their support for manny is a credit, but is it right we have to accept that 70% of threads on a boxing forum are about 1 fighter?

After Pac retires, I wonder what the PacFans will be talking about if probably there won't be anybody to talk about anymore. Maybe lots threads remembering Pac's greatness (unless he's stopped by any of the big names out there: Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto, Williams, etc.).

If someone is annoyed by all this threads about Pac being a god, completely perfect with no flaw/weakness what so ever, Pac can even beat the heavyweights, etc. You'll have to wait until Pac loses, which seems hard, or just 2 more years 'till he retires. Unless Filipinos and PacFans start cheering for Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Americans, etc. which have dominated the sport and still do and not just rely on one single guy.
