First let me say, that article was garbage. About as garbage as you can get. I'm sure there were people on internet forums calling Obama the N word after he won his election but that means essentially nothing and regardless of what message board they were on, Eastside, Doghouse or any of them, if they said something like that then they were most likely banned.

From everything I have seen of Khan in the US media and what I read on here, I don't see any reason not to like him. He seems like a good enough guy, I really don't know much more then that about him.

I'm not a Khan fan, but not because of his race and I don't think anyone really thinks that way, even in their subconscious because when it comes to athletes, I'd like to think that race finds a way to not matter. Look at Tiger Woods who has the entire golf world on his side as a black man, because he plays the game right and he conducts himself accordingly. That's golf, an all white sport.

People slag off Khan the same reason people slag off De La Hoya and JCC Jr. When boxing fans hear a whole lot about something that isn't all that relevant, or they see attention going to perhaps where it isn't so much deserved, then they start generating reasons to dislike a guy. When people see so much being poured into Khan and have to watch him on PPV to pretend it's a big deal to see him spark a guy who means nothing to the division, then it is going to irk them. That's the reason for it, not race so come off it. We're not talking about Hurricane Katrina, it's boxing.
