If I were an MMA organization, I'd turn down Roy too because what have they got to gain? It's a lose/lose for them. If Roy gets stopped he can say he was never an MMA fighter & is really way past his prime in boxing anyway. But if he won, how would that look for MMA? A boxer past his prime beats a trained MMA fighter.
I saw Shaq might try MMA now too. That would look terrible for MMA if he did well in MMA too. A guy retires in his main sport & takes up MMA as a hobby & still does well - what would that say about the full time MMA fighters?
