I don't think boxing as a whole needs Haye, but the heavies sure do! The excitement he has brought to the division since his move up has brought some much needed attention to the big men

The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
I think boxing doesn't need Haye but certainly benefits in general. The HW division needs Haye and more like him to get it back to being the most prized title in sport.
Agree with a previous point about UK boxing needing him, there are a few upcoming fighters but no one really at the top at the moment, with a tabloid press second to none he can generate interest for a layman fan who likes him being a sensationalist.
Or does the Hayemaker need teh b0xing![]()
Boxing doesnt need him, but the hw division sure does.
And mainstream boxing for the most part thrives and fails with the hw division with few exceptions.
Im still voting yes just cause I hope he knocks Wlad the fuck out.
Having Haye at HW is good, he is exciting in the ring and loves to run his mouth which brings in the wrestling fans too. It's too bad he will be irrelavant after Wladdy flattens him.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Mixed bag here.Better to have the 'Homemakers' than not.A confident, punching comer & walking sound bite for media willing to fight the best.....is he able too is another question?
And for the many followers he has cheering.....count as equal the ones that are waiting & watching for another braggart to get sparked out.
imo Haye keeps winning = Interest increases,Hype grows and boxings marquis division stays in the limelight a little longer!
Wlad wins = marquis division slips back into obscurity as it has been for the rest of the Klitschko reign.
Let's hope for the sake of the division, that come June 20th Haye not only talks the talk but walks the walk![]()
There is no doubt that Haye could be good for boxing. I don't think boxing needs him, but with the only 2 remaining marquee stars to the casual fan, Floyd Mayweather & Manny Pacquiao, probably having at most five fights left between them, boxing is going to need stars to take over. I think Haye can offer that, I struggle to see anyone else who can on a global level apart from Kelly Pavlik. The general public are generally only interested from 135 upwards, so I think that rules out Juanma for a while, who is already arguably the biggest star in Puerto Rico (ie more popular than Cotto, not a better fighter yet). I think there will be a lot of guys who are stars but in their own countries.
Boxing does not need David Haye.
David Haye earned his shot at Klitschko with his mouth rather than his performances.
Even if Haye wins he won't save the division.
People's focus is know on the lower divisions where the best fighters are and where the best matchups are to be made.
He's certainly doing no harm. Just hope he doesn't show himself up because he'll look like a tool.
He's definitely entertaining. Both in and outside the ring.
