In US NFL and MLB are the most watched sports

I think NFL is our number 1 sport here. The Superbowl is like a holiday for our country. One time event each year everybody tune in, even if its not your team playing for the glory.

I hate Baseball, but even though it's been eclipsed by the NFL (a far superior sport IMO) I still think of MLB as the sport that typifies America.

The last time my team played for the glory, they got robbed by the refs. I'm still pissed about that. Speaking of the 'Hawks, what do you think of the rumours about them signing Vick? I think I'll have to find a new team if they do that.

Yea we got robbed big time a few years back.

I dont think those rumors are true, it would be a bad move for Mora. Sure him and Vick have history together but Seattle is not going to welcome Vick in I dont think.

why does baseball get such a bad rep in the US.

If you ask me its definitely one of the most exciting sports in the world. If you took away the boring intervals after every innings and turned into a game played over 9(1 back to back innings it would catch on the world over.

I often find myself sky+ing (tebo or whatever the hell its called in the us) the baseball on a sunday night as im quite a keen mets fan!

Boxing is amazing. No other sport gets me as excited as boxing. The hours before a big fight are great.
Football (soccer) is easily the most popular sport in the world. The second largest sporting event in the world is the Football world cup followed by the rugby world cup. Number 1 is the the olympics.
Lots of american sports aren't big in other places in the world. One reason for this might be the cost. With football you only need a football. You can practice certain aspects by yourself. Other sports like American football you need lots of equipment to play safely aswell as a few people who need equipment aswell.

Me too, except that I am behind the steel curtain Thus said, I don't think that we can say that any sport is the best in the world but for me Boxing does a lot, no matter what some might say that it's only a sluggish contest to get injured, with all the dedication and sacrifices it takes to be a professional boxer (and god knows I don't have it), it's much more than just eating leather, it's all about strategy, discipline and pushing your body to its utter limits.
