Do you think his being kind and respectful throws his opponents off?

NO!!!! He is a true sportsman and if he beats Taylor not only will he be Middle Weight champ he will be the people's champ. Likeable guy who has never been arrogant and respect never throws opponents off but trash talk does

I guess I'm just saying he stands out that way in a sport that has pressers that are more and more like pro wrestling.

Remember that just about all promoters tell their boxers to spice the fight up with a little trash talk and rivalry. Just like wrestling a good grudge match gives better promotion which leads to more money, thats why you see fighters like Tarver, Hopkins, Mayorga, Toney talking so much trash. Winky Wright is beyond all that.
