I assumed the odds were the same as in Killer's sportsbook, thus I thought 1.1 meant I would make 1.1 dollar/pound for every dollar/pound wagered. Damn it.

I just get the # symbol by pressing shift + 3. Maybe keyboards sold in the UK are different?
Maybe the keyboards are different mate, errr on my keyboard the £ sign is on the 3 key but its shift and wherever the £ symbol appears on our keyboards in the uk.
I just looked it up, and UK keyboards are slightly different. I find that interesting for some odd reason:
