Sorry I am now confused, who is this thread about ?? As for KT , tha guy was a great fighter but when people defend his loss against Hatton by throwing up the age question then ask youself why in the f**ck was he in there, cause he didn't rate hatton and got taken, age or not FACT .....he lost, go build a bridge.

It's a collective of facts in support of why Tszyu was infact an alltime great, one of the top two 140 pound fighters ever. Alot of that post was posted elsewhere in response to wanting to explain why Tszyus resume was as destinguished as I said it was.

True, he could still fight, even at near 36, but he hadn't fought in nearly 2 years, going only 3 rounds in that time..

Ricky Hatton was the better man on the night, cheers

No.. the post shows, based on his pro record, Kostya should be called a good fighter not a great one. He simply hasn't beaten (or fought) enough Grade 1 opposition.

If Kostya is great then many others, with similar records, like Hatton, should be called great too. But that's not the case.

And the very fact a PRIME Kostya was whooped by old Vince Phillips is an unforgiving, glaring stain on his "greatness."

Well to me KT is very overrated by people i mean his resume is that of Hatton they are the same no other way for me to look at it at all. As for him being great i really dont think he deserves that title really i mean you can put him in top what ever 140 people but not the word great no. As for the JCC win please dont make me laugh Oscar finished anything that was left on that dude as for him not getting fights with big boys well Phillips kicking his ass kinda put a dent on the Mosley or Dela Hoya fights.

I like poking holes in this one. Fact is, we are in a lot better position to judge whether or not TSZYU is past it after seeing him fight, no?

guess using your logic we can ask, Is Tzsyu a chicken shit for quitting on his stool and then running into retirement, ala Hamed?

    do i think that? no

do i think that Hatton is a club fighter? no, he's a former 3 time world champion, held world titles in 2 divisions and was the man at 140 twice, IMO he's a top 10 junior welter of all time, but do i think he's one of the greatest fighters of his time, no

    The facts are..

Kostya was stopped TWICE at 140. Fact.

Hatton beat Tszyu. Fact. Hatton even beat the other guy that beat Tszyu. Fact.

    Kostya has NO excuses. Fact.

    Kostya is overrated. IMO. Fact.
Hatton got away with every foul cuz the ref was in his pocket. Fact

    That's opinion not fact.

"I have nothing to be ashamed of - I lost to the better fighter. I never felt that Ricky could beat me, but it happened. Everyone can be beaten. This is life." Kostya Tszyu

It's just very convenient. Besides Tszyu never made any suggestions that it was a fight too many for him.

There is no evidence or circumstances that would make him past it

Just coming off arguably best career performances

WHAT WHAT WHAT does the Hatton-Kosta thing has to do with the original question? To my eyes, nothing. No matter if Tszyu or Hatton has been the best, it doesn't mean Hatton was a club fighter. As far as I am concerned, Hatton is a very good boxer, he's just not top of the elite and his life style plus his "absorb blows" type of defense are simply shortening his career by a couple of years but nowhere because he has been battered by two of the top boxers in the world or the "where does he stand" compared to Kosta means he's releagued to a club boxer status.

So a loss (albeit a dismantling) to the top fighter in the world make you club fighter?

Hatton is a very good fighter. Not great.

KT is a great 140. The Hatton-KT fight was an ugly lesson in dirty boxing. KT fought the wrong fight and lost. Hatto's tactics made me ill, but they were effective.

Well I'm not sure I heard the argument for this the first 5 times you brought up the exact same information, could you please repeat it.
Clearly this is not a wind up thread, and KostyaTzsyu'sPowerRangerSquad is simply looking to inform.

Heres the list, at least he had a great win one time. I suppose he has to fight back from that glorified club fighter tag and do something, or else people will think he had a fantastically lucky night. No, I've never excepted the result of fighting Two Guys, Paris and Hatton to be a fair accurate representation.

TSZYU - Hall of fame fighter, one of the greatest 140 pound fighters all time, near 36 when lost
CASTILLO - Past his best. NEVER did Anything to be called Great. Good fighter, big difference to Tszyu
COLLAZO - Not a great boxer won a belt through circumstance, never seen since, lost title first or second defence.
    URANGO - Solid fighter
    MALIGNAGGI - A good fighter
MAUSSA - Beat a trashed Harris, doesnt everyone, like Witter. Not a great fighter
LAZCANO - Never a World Champ. A nobody on the alltime list
PHILLIPS - WELL past his best

Jesus Christ mate, your like a broken record, seriously go back to the Kosta site where you belong, you are pathetic. This is a boxing site mate not a site where we get our cocks out over Kosta and try to belittle an opponent who beat him, get over it mate, it was four years ago, re build your life its not to late. Life will go on.
