I remember Benn and Eubank squaring off and talking about the money. Benn said he wanted £1 million tax free and Eubank said 'Give him the money..... but if they wont give you the money please compromise' Benn replied 'yeah I'll compromise, I'll drag some binman into the top ten and fight him..............like you do'

Ha,there are the exact words he says too,infact i read that part when he mentioned that about Eubank fighting bums in his book earlier this morning as i was reading it.I loved Benn,he was soo honest and game.A raw powered fighter at that weight.I loved watching his fights as a kid and he remains my true boxing idol to this day,he was great!

I did'nt know he was the first ever uk boxer to make 1 £million from a fight though!At least i know now,it might help me out if i have the question at a pub quiz sometime in the future

I have a book about Benn and it was better than Eubanks which far too preachy for my liking. Benn talked about going to celebrity orgies and how he despised his manager and would hide from him I think it was Mendy?

benn-eubank was the most hyped fight in the uk of the 90`s

You have to remember back then british fighters very rarely if ever apart from brunos trip to meet tyson ever went stateside and benn-eubank had been hyped for years.

I remember being 8 and having a dad who had no interest in boxing yet still took me to a houseparty to watch the fight because it was such a massive occasion in the UK.
