A magical team, a longtime illusionist and a cooking legend all represent Las Vegas on Forbes’ annual list of "The World’s Most Powerful Celebrities."
The Celebrity 100, which includes film and television actors, models, chefs, athletes, authors and musicians, is a measure of entertainment-related earnings and media presence.
MGM Grand regular David Copperfield hit the list at No. 80 after making an estimated $30 million from June 2008 to June 2009.
One of Las Vegas’ most famed chefs, Wolfgang Puck, made the list at No. 95 with $18 million.
Magic duo Penn and Teller rounded out the list at No. 96 with a combined $20 million.
Not a resident but a regular fighter in Las Vegas, Manny Pacquiao, was new to the list, ranking No. 57 with $40 million.
"The Celebrity 100 is a measure of power based on money and fame,” Forbes said of its report. "Fame is calculated using Web hits on Google Blog Search, TV/radio mentions on LexisNexis, overall press mentions on Factiva and the number of times a celebrity's image appeared on the cover of 25 consumer magazines."
pretty similar to your posts actually, and hey, you're the only one here basing your threads off of blogs
dead certain if it's Forbes millionaire list, both Mayweather and especially DLH are well ahead of Manny
who makes more money? current p4p #1 boxer? or owner of one of the top 2 boxing promotion companies & Ring Magazine? oh yea and add in, highest paid non-heavyweight fighter of all time, and i doubt the REAL answer will be Pacquiao
Your statement is unfair, I only have one thread based on a blog... And to the blog author's credit, he did his homework and did some research before writing his blog...
I'm with you, Hoya and PBF are ahead of PAC in Forbes millionaires list... but unfortunately this is not the millionaires list...
and unfortunately the only reason DLH isn't on the list is due to retirement, cause i'm sure that he could fight a dieing Jake Lamotta next week at MSG and it'll still be sold out and get god know's how many PPV's, it's no question that still to the average joe and non-die hard fans, that DLH is still the face of boxing today
Dude you're talking nonsense, you're making up false reasons why Dela Hoya was not in this list... Michael Jordan retired long time ago but he's still in the list because he's still making good money in the advertisement field and he's still very popular in TV and print ads...
Here's the criteria of the rankings and tell me why DelaHoya did not make it in the list...
"The Celebrity 100, which includes film and television actors, models, chefs, athletes, authors and musicians, is a measure of entertainment-related earnings and media visibility (exposure in print, television, radio and online). The earnings estimates consist of pre-tax income between June 2008 and June 2009. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted."
